I think the only team in the SEC east that has been significantly down is Tennessee. Once they can get back to being a top-25 team regularly the East will be just as tough as the West. Floridas season is an anomaly, they probably won't have a losing record again for a long, long time. I'm looking forward to what Mizzou can do in the long-haul. I think we'll consistently be somewhere between last year and this year. A regular 7-9 win team that goes to a decent bowl, that's what we are under Pinkel. We'll occasionally have a down year when we struggle, and we'll occasionally have a great year with double-digit wins, but those won't be the norms. Although to give him his credit, Pinkel has had 4 10+ win seasons in the last 8 years. That's a pretty decent average if he can keep that up.
I think long-term in the SEC East, South Carolina will probably slip back a little once Spurrier retires(historically, they are really, really bad until he got there). Georgia will keep being Georgia, top 25 and challenging for the East every year. and Florida will soon be back to the same.
