It was a route until Petty got hurt early in the 3rd quarter. Have to hope he's ok enough to play next week or it may not matter.Baylor is struggling with Tech, they don't deserve to be in the playoff.
My bad, I was thinking it was TCu that beat Baylor. So TCU is definitely getting passed by Baylor next week if Baylor beats Kstate. On what planet do you live? Baylor and TCU would share the title in practicality, but the Big 12 has already said in that instance, Baylor gets the official title for committee purposes.
That is the conventional wisdom, but I'm not so sure if Ohio State wins Baylor can jump them. The committee seems to be hell bent on making sure that IF a Big 12 team gets in it's TCU or no one. It truly boggles the mind that the committee will call a win over a team with 4 losses, 3 of them to Big 10 teams in a year when the Big 10 is the worst it's been in a very long time, a quality win.My bad, I was thinking it was TCu that beat Baylor. So TCU is definitely getting passed by Baylor next week if Baylor beats Kstate.
I think the main point I was trying to make is that there is virtually no chance of tcu and Baylor both getting in. The only thing that might make it close would be an Oregon loss, an Alabama or Fla St loss won't do it.
Have you watched a single Florida St game this year? They've done nothing but look mediocre against average competition. They are super lucky they play in the weak-ass ACC.Rivalry games are just so damn good. You have the underdog put up a good fight (or the favored shits the bed, or combination of both). There is no way FSU should've struggled this much against Florida. I have a feeling Auburn will put up a big fight even though they realistically should get demolished. Miss. St should be beating Ole' Miss but that isn't happening either. I just love it!
I hope Auburn does win. Would be funny to see no SEC teams in the playoff. But you know someway, shape, or form they would slide one in somehow and try to justify it. Cause' you know, SEC...
I haven't been following this very well, so I apologize, but if Auburn beats Alabama, what happens to the SEC Championship game and or the playoffs?Looks like Miss. St. is going down. Let's go Auburn, burn the whole playoffs down.
A single day of games says reputations aren't the same thing as results:Have you watched a single Florida St game this year? They've done nothing but look mediocre against average competition. They are super lucky they play in the weak-ass ACC.
Or maybe Florida is a below-average team? As someone said previously, results are different than reputations and we see that every year.Have you watched a single Florida St game this year? Even as an OSU alum, I would imagine that they would and believe that they should.I wonder if the playoff committee penalizes Ohio St for losing the 1 player that is their entire team?
Bama, Miss St, and Missouri are the only SEC teams to improve their preseason rankings (pending this Iron Bowl result)Interesting look back at the pre-season polls and the outcomes today. Lots of consistent favorites year-after-year (mainly SEC) are nowhere to be found or entirely shifted places in current polls.
Or maybe Florida is a below-average team? As someone said previously, results are different than reputations and we see that every year.
Just funny how teams like Univ. South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, and several others are top 25 every year but nearly every year end up in mediocrity. What's the definition of insanity again?Bama, Miss St, and Missouri are the only SEC teams to improve their preseason rankings (pending this Iron Bowl result)
Edit - Ole Miss should end up slight better too after the new rankings come out next week. It's basically all the "tradirional" powers that sink it up this year in the SEC(besides Bama)
The insanity comes from genetically 'keeping it in the family.'The people in Alabama are certifiably insane
Let me know if Darryl from Georgia calls in.This Iron Bowl game being broadcast on the SEC Network is fucking awesome. Just Paul Finebaum and 4 other analysts sitting in a room talking about the game as it unfolds and taking crazy-ass phone calls from viewers. No commercials.
I'll take this for every single football game I watch over traditional announcers.
