It still all comes down to the almighty $$... OSU will bring in substantially more money than PSU will without a doubt.

OSU will likely get in over Penn State and they'll site how Penn St. struggled to win the conference championship game and use that as justification. It has been very apparent that the committee basically does whatever they want and can easily manipulate their own rankings to justify certain scenarios. You may also see teams that OSU beat randomly get better rankings without very much reasoning to give OSU a boost, it has happened multiple times since the committee-based system.

As with nearly everything in life, it is always about the money.

It should honestly be Bama, Penn State, Washington, and Clemson.

The committee can justify it by claiming that all of these teams have one more quality win than OSU (who didn't play yesterday) and all are conference champions. It is that easy.

If they do anything else then they should just be replaced by a computer program with a transparent algorithm.

You had people yesterday on the radio saying OSU is the best Big10 team and they have to be in the final four. If that means you have to bring Penn State to make it seem fair then UW just gets bumped.

The committee mission says some bullshit like the best teams not just conference championships.

I don't get why everyone is up OSU's ass anyways. They played inconsistent all year, not showing up in some games. If conference championships matter and head to head matters then Penn State should be in. Strength of Schedule is in favor of OSU but only by 15 or so last time I checked.

If OSU > Penn State then we might as well shit doesn't matter and they'll just vote whoever the fuck they want with no criteria whatsoever.

The death knell of the BCS was the shittastic rematch of Bama vs LSU in an all SEC national championship. There arent enough intra-conference games to truly say that one conference deserves two out of four spots so how the fuck does bringing two Big 10 teams make it seem fair?

Washington beat all but one team put in front of them and won their conference. OSU lost twice including to the team that just won their division and conference. The conversation needs to be which Big 10 team deserves to be in, not which 1 loss conference champion needs to be left out so that the committee can justify a possible Big 10 rematch.

It should be Penn State since OSU couldn't even win their division and that's not on anyone but OSU.

I completely agree. My stance has been pretty clear that this committee stuff is horseshit. I think the playoffs should be expanded so every power 5 conference champ gets in and then 1 or 3 wild cards and make it completely algorithmic ala the NFL. Should be zero room for favoritism or eye test garbage.

Well championships don't matter, head to head doesn't matter, playing consistent doesn't matter and will even get you the 3rd spot over the 4th spot.
