The title is of course stupid clickbait, but the point is A&M has both the most revenue AND the most profit in recent years. Texas makes a bunch of money off merch, A&M's numbers will probably take a dip after their stadium funding etc., and Clemson somehow misses the top 25 entirely (Alabama, just 9th in yearly profit, has more profit than Dabo's team has in revenue?).

Looks like the top 10 teams are spending $50 million per year (and head coaches are making nearly $10 million of that). The SEC gives each team $41 million – basically enough to cover operating costs even if teams made no money from merch, gave away all tickets for free, etc. Alabama a big outlier, spending nearly $70 million per year on ???

NFL salary cap is $177 million, with players receiving 48.5% – each teams has a revenue of nearly $370 million per year.

College teams can't match the revenue, but NFL owners would love to have yearly profits of "just" $50 million (~16th best college program).

Sure but aside from the social aspect of owning an NFL team, in general resale of NFL teams has been extremely profitable to say the least.

Shiiiiiiit. Is this a bad time to mention I am a Texas A&M graduate?
How many Aggies does it take to change a light bulb?

First you have to explain to them what a light bulb is.

Lol I actually laugh at all of the Aggie jokes.

As for the story the title was classic clickbait. But it does reinforce the idea of going to the SEC was the right one for the football program and probably for the other men's and women's sports too.

A&M was the school the SEC wanted. Mizzou... Not so much.

SEC meaning fans, not beaucrats

SEC Presidents and AD's wanted A&M also. A direct link to the Texas recruiting pools is gold to any conference. It's why conferences try so hard to play games in Texas and California.

Well if you're going to finish in the middle to bottom of the league most years then it might as well be in the most hyped and best paid one.....

We saved all our good plays for this week. Sacrificed the Maryland game so we can dominate this week. Ultimate commitment.
