Illinois beat Rutgers so we are officially not the worst team in the B1G this year. What a relief.

The OU/Texas and LSU/Florida games were great.

Irish making me nervous.

Irish look fine.

VT are playing very well but doesn't seem sustainable.

Some of those deep throws looked like miscommunications on finishing the route between Book & the receivers. Also gotta think those screen passes and running plays will open up as the game goes on.

ND wins this game comfortably by a couple scores.

I hope you are right. Our offense can't do shit right now. VT gets the ball back with two and a half minutes before half. We don't want them to go into half ahead of us.

Stoops has been on the hot seat for a while but not sure what he could have done from a scheme standpoint. Texas wasn’t using complex stuff, we just lined up and blew y’all off the ball until Herman stupidly thought he could just grind the game for an entire quarter. OU just doesn’t seem to have any difference makers on their D this year. Isn’t this also the reoccurring theme with the air raid guys? Riley is one of if not the best offensive minds in college right now but he is going to have to build a defense now with an offensive system that never seems to allow for having a good defense. It will be interesting to see if the identity of his OU teams shifts from Bob’s.

True, but OU should have a top 40-ish defense every year no matter what on talent alone. The OU defense should certainly be able to replicate what KSU and a down USC can, right? Mike Stoops wouldn't have lost his job if he was keeping OU respectable, but it is clear that his view of defensive scheming doesn't allow the success that OU should be having at a minimum. Also, it isn't like this is a new problem. His defense has been lit up by average offenses far more than is reasonable since he returned in the early 2010's.

Scuttlebutt here in Okie-land is Stoops and a "star" OU LB/DE (allegedly) almost came to blows at halftime. Defender said he was quitting the team, and it sounds like a few others were threatening to join him. Again, this is per Dean "the stream" Blevins so who knows how true it is but the timing makes sense.

I've heard it confirmed several times that it was Curtis "Buzzy" Bolton (LB) and that is why Caleb Kelly played the rest of the game at his spot. In any case, sounds like MS lost the locker room at some point and it boiled over on Saturday. I don't really blame them, either, since everything I've read makes it seem like he has consistently put them in position to look as bad as they possibly can, schematically.

It had to be something over the top because coordinator mid season firings in college ball are pretty rare.
