can't make it to this mini comic convention, i wouldn't normally since i've never been to a convention (my first will be nycc this year) but they're literally 5mins away from me, heh, but oh well work and stuff.

no one is even there really.

in more recent news, wtg marvel, making comics uncomfortable for women again.

It's not even good art. That looks like a high school kid wanted to make something sexy or whatever.

"artist" is 69 and all he draws is porn
Milo Manara - Google Search

its pretty much hentai w/o then tentacles

the pathetic comic industry doesnt need this when they cant even put a comic woman in a starring role, and no, not as a third wheel to the horrible batman v superman movie

and again its not even good art

Picked up Guardians of the Galaxy 18 today, swore off the series back on issue 8 but broke that promise because they're releasing info on RichardRider(you fuck nut Bendis there's no Y).
No new info on him unfortunately in this issue so far they're just detailing the events of the Cancerverse fight between Starlord, Nova, and Thanos. It was nice to read and see Rich again though.

Since Marvel Heroes is going through the effort to make Richard Rider* an enhanced skin I have to imagine he'll be sticking around in the comics for the foreseeable future. Got skins to sell!

*I read about the misspelling. Apparently it's spelled right in some spots but not in others. General consensus on various boards is editorial error.

I do not appreciate the retro style of some recent comics. Put that shit in an entirely separate bin that I can easily avoid.

That's Mike Allred, I love him. Madman was one of my favorite comics back in the day. His Hulk is a little rough, though.

It's mostly Bendis spelling it with a Y for some reason? He doesn't like the previous decades and thousands of uses of I. Oh wait I know that reason, he's a cunt.

They all look rough. I don't need people to go for realistic all the time, but those don't like like any kind of stylistic decision they just look amateurish. I get that he's drawing them in the silver age look but it doesn't translate well here. For me. You can go simplistic and limited palette without it looking bad. Look at Hawkeye.

Then again I thought Greg Land was good because I don't generally pay much attention to the art unless it's crazy good or distractingly bad. I'm still not sure which Ultimate FF artist I was thinking of that had a sort of Alex Rossish style.

I think Silver Surfer and Doc Strange look fine. That is his style, he has a very specific kind of retro style, his Silver Surfer is basically his Madman. I even get what he is trying to do with Hulk, take it back to a 60s/70s thing, but I don't think he really succeeded. But I've always been a sucker for his style, I like it because at the time I hadn't really seen anything like it and I like that he stuck with that style.

Like I said, looks like he's going for a silver age look, but with modern techniques. It just looks...shitty to me. Not bad enough it would ruin a comic for me though. Unlike those She-Hulk's I posted a few pages back, where it was distracting enough it might make me put it down even with the clever writing.

sorry to burst your bubble dude...

you're a greg land fanboy! you can't help yourself.

but really in all seriousness from what i can remember of Ultimate FF, (my nephew basically has everything in nyc) greg land was about the only one doing near photo realistic, since you know he traces real faces.

for reference, alex ross is the guy who did kingdom come art, you can probably google

greg land vs. alex ross,

as the 2 main photo comic book type ppl

and go down the rabbit hole of horrible comic art banter.

but, ultimate FF aside from greg land was "comic bookie" artists, then greg land just popped in with a year of porn face. (it was ultimate ff, ultimate power and a few xmen titles, like 2 years of land, you couldn't help but notice)
