I bet thats going to be one good looking build after its all together. I personally would go for a 1000 watt just for longevity. But it looks good regardless.

They have all the parts at microcenter, so I’m the next few months I’ll prob swing by and have them put it all together.

The only thing they don’t have is the case.

I also added a 1000W be quiet! Titanium rated power supply.

Don't bother to buy the new Be Quiet Dark Power 13 for an AMD card, it doesn't need the native ATX 3.0 cables.

My point is that you don't need the newest one, if you can pick up the v12 cheaper.

Dark Power 12, Dark Power Pro 11, Pro 12, any high end Seasonic or high end Corsair, all great.

This is available for $254.99, not sure why it says $310 when I link it.

I dont think an extra 50 bucks is going to phase him if hes already spending that much on the build. Though, I would look at it more as future proofing.

Hmm posted this in another forum , mabe wrong one?

Been considering swapping my EVGA 3080ti out for a 7900XTX, I game on dual 4k monitors and a AMD 3950x cpu. Any thoughts on what improvements I would see (if any)? I have a very hard budget of 1K so 4080/4090's are out. Don't see where swapping out the 3950x would help and 1k isn't enough to do a total rebuild like I would want. I'm looking for being able to crank starfield etc up to max.

tl;dr have 1k burning a hole in my pocket and looking to upgrade 'something' on my current PC.

Not worth it.

That's a lot to pay for a 3070 ti at this point.
Yeah, I'm not really happy with that either. I passed on the recommendation that I'd just spend the little extra and get a 4070ti, but it puts it like 20% over budget at that point

I also said he could go used and get a 3080ti on ebay for similar prices as the 3070ti new, but then you're playing with used gpu's which is probably fine but you never know.

Unless you have a burning need for 32 threads that isn't gaming, you could probably get a reasonably decent bump in gaming performance by swapping to a 5800x3d.

Everything I've read shows that being at best a linear move. 4k is usually GPU bound not CPU.

It's probably depressingly title specific. There were some pretty decent architecture upgrades along the way, but your point is valid. My point was essentially a low hanging fruit option. The alternatives involve a cpu+mobo+ram swap.

Sell the 3k series to pool the money and get a 4090.
We all know that a measly 1000W PSU is too weak to be future proof. It's practically obsolete already.
Early 2019, the power draw of a high end computer was almost half of where its at now. But sarcasm is funny.
