Yeah, it is all over Reddit for sure. Also, it is nice of Bungie to reward anyone who completed 7 Crimson Doubles matches a 320 ghost. I had some of my best PvP games in a long time, including my first relentless (ten kills single life) and didn't see anything drop that was more exciting than a shader.
Soon as I get back in town I'm going to fire up ToO all weekend to blow off some steam.

Been 40 a bit now and just running Vanguard strikes for gear while leveling my other subclasses. Unfortunately, I didn't know everything higher than lvl 36 strikes required preformed groups (no matchmaking). My playtimes are very erratic due to work and I don't know anyone who still plays Destiny. Without in-game communication and that, what exactly am I supposed to do to get gear? I'm at 240 light so I could eke out a bit more through normal Vanguard strikes and can slowly get 280 stuff from Leg marks but not sure where to go from here...

Oh, and what are these silver coins used for? I have 200 I think but have not seen them used anywhere for currency.
Silver Coins are just for emotes and I think a sparrow manual when Sparrow Racing is around.

As for gear, you basically have to keep doing strikes/quests/xur. you basically wanna get your light level to 285/290 and go onto destinylfg.net and find a run for the normal raid. After 280/285 you can do iron banner (it is a clusterfuck but great gear) and you'll probably get a 310 ghost. You should also do the quests that the vanguard people give you. The quests this time around are pretty great and I will link you a few that'll net you better gear:

300 Light shotgun (Conspiracy Theory-D)/Useless fusion rifle:Neverending Battle - Quests - Destiny Tracker Database
310 exotic sword (sorta long but worth it):In Depth Exotic Sword Quest Guide : DestinyTheGame

I do advise you to NOT spend legendary marks because frankly, below 300 light, blues will give you more light (really wonky design in my opinion but whatever). Here is a full guide on how to hit 300 light or in general, just up yours:
Short (not really) guide on getting 300+ light : DestinyTheGame

EDIT: As I'm sure you've seen, many of the timed events like iron banner/sparrow racing/crimson doubles/etc will usually offer you some 320 gear as well. Just focus on slowly upping your light level, based on your own time constraints, and then once you hit about 310 you can start picking and choosing what pieces of gear you want. People are also pretty forgiving if you're a low light/brand new to the raid on LFG when doing normal raids too in my experiences.

290 light and have yet to even see a raid. While I understand no raid match making I wish it was a thing. Maybe the patch will get me in one finally.

The lack of some kind of match making for raids is retarded. There are things like Reddit LFG/LFS and then DestinyLFG.net for groups, but something in game would make the game a lot better.

I haven't seen anything on major outlets, but do you guys playing Destiny ever hear Bungie say something on forums or whatever about a PC version?

Pretty sure it's not going to happen. Destiny 2, whenever that happens, I'd say is pretty likely. I hope.

da fuq is bungie really introducing a new gear cap and reusing Prison of Elders and throwing in a rando new named boss to get to that cap? Who just happens to be a prisoner in Prison of Elders, the crappiest of all raids bungie made? Ignoring how could you imprison a taken boss, who literally can shift to a parallel universe, why wouldn't you reuse the first two raids instead they were so much cooler

I agree... I would've been much happier with an upgraded VOG and Crota End (sprinkle in some taken for flavor). PoE sucked then, and still Fucking sucks now.

Because it requires the least effort ofc. Its basicaly mob waves times whatever then a boss.

If they would redesign VoG or something it would require resources that could better be spent on Destiny 2. This game is in maintanence mode right now, they will just throw up some minor tweaks to keep people playing until their delayed second game is comming

The problem I see with it is that there is plan for a couple years now.

Make Destiny 2 put it in maintenance mode while they work on Destiny 3.

I just have no faith in Bungie anymore, they had such a wonderful base and they ruined it.

Makes me wish Blizzard could work with them all the time.

Disappointed too that it's PoE and not VoG/CE, but at least it will be relatively painless to run. The challenge of the elders or whatever where it keeps score and you can get 335 drops is only 3 rounds ~5 min per round.

Hah, I got so wrapped up in Iron Bananas because Clash! that I forgot about Xur. Could always use the 3oC. My KDR is noteably better this time around and I wonder if it is because I went back to my vendor Nirwen's Mercy and they went and equalized all weapons it seems.
