Also start hoarding your cryptarch reward packages for when the new changes come. It will net you a good bit of legendaries, instead of rolling the dice now.

So I've never been much of a glimmer farmer (probably why I'm always broke), but I figured I'd share how I do it since I know some of the popular spots just got nerfed.

I just averaged 2400glimmer per wax idol (10 minutes). I have no idea if that's good or bad.

Anyways, its at the "We've woken the hive!" spot, but level 20, not level 9.

I can run through them fast as a blade dancer because of Showstopper, Encore and the knucklehead helmet, which increases super energy by a lot.

Basically, I just run up to the door and spam R2(showstopper) to wipe out everyone. Encore refreshes super energy with each arc blade kill, so it's basically unlimited in this area. Takes me about 12 seconds to wipe everyone out. Make sure to get the 3 elite acolytes since that is where most of the glimmer comes from.

The reason I do it on level 20 is because that's the only time I've seen the acolytes drop wax idols, and also because it's a lot harder to kill the knight. at level 9, I was accidentally killing the knight a lot.

I hope they add larger scale pvp - like a 10v10 rumble in one of the larger maps.

edit - rather 20 man rumble on larger map.

Just got Suros Regime. It's perfect for my gameplay. It's a great buy over the fucking quick rez Titan BP. Still annoying I can't gather more strange coins per week outside of lvl 20 alts besides true RNG. I ran probably 20-40 matches in crucible this weekend. I think I got 1 strange coin.

I thought it was better to hoard the blue engrams? Or do you mean after you run out of bank space and have to use the cryptarch?

Makes me sad I work nights

Everybody in pvp has the suros regime now. I feel like maybe I should have saved up for it
Don't feel bad, I'll be rocking vanquisher III in a few days once I get New monarchy up to r3. That's the next best thing I can come up with even though Column said Suros is in a league of its own. Why couldn't you just lie to me bro!

A.) Why would that be? For what reason would they implement that?
B.) How would you even begin to try to prove you being "pretty sure".
C.) What constitutes a "much" higher chance? What kind of data do you have?
A.) To encourage people to play PvP matches?
B.) Read forum posts around the Internet about peoples experience with Destiny so far, two things become common: 1 - Crucible matches can reward players with Exotic weapons, 2 - Most of the people who mention getting an Exotic bounty also say they received them from turning in PvP bounties.
C.) Just comparing my own experience with a friend; I've not done a single PvP bounty since release (all PvE bounties each day though), while my friend has been doing all the PvP bounties everyday (plus PvE). He has been rewarded 4 exotic bounties, each time while turning in the PvP bounties (before turning in the PvE). I've managed to get one exotic bounty in all that time, I guess you can at least say that doing Crucible bounties will make it more likely to obtain an exotic reward.

Also, every Faction (aside from Vanguard) requires Crucible Marks for gear, each Exotic weapon bounty requires Crucible matches to be played (aside from SGA?). Seems pretty clear that Bungie wants to make PvP as attractive as possible

That and I think they're trying to keep the playlists full, so queue times aren't long waits, which could lead to a significant population decline if PVP heads dont have peeps to pwn.

RNGesus is RNGesus, i could say i got my both exotic bounties right after I took a really good shit so thats all you need to do to get one. every bounty turn in has a small chance to spawn an exotic bounty, beyond that I wouldn't factor in too much. I got one of mine from a queens bounty. Do the exotics but like 3/4ths of the bounty weapons are pretty meh right now, Suros is fucking god mode in PVP fully modd'd out and you should be sad if you didn't pick it up this weekend.

They definitely want you to PVP, its gaming money 101 now: without it, everyone would be trading in their destiny and moving onto to the next thing since there is only so much farming the average person wants to do.

The 2nd mars relic iron spot is really good by the way for farming, its the one where you run into the "second" area with the dozen or so underground rooms and the giant Lord of the Rings style wall/bridge that has a ton of Orcs all around. I spent about 3 hours there yesterday and got around 70 ore just running in 3-4 minute circle paths. Only hard part is jumping up on top of the bridge, as a warlock it really sucks although I probably don't have the right lift modifier selected.

man im gonna need 54 more ascendant shards to go from level 28 to 29 i can see why so many people are pissed off at the queen shard nerf. its really hard to upgrade that last column since you feel so stuck to that piece of gear after that.

is it worth upgrading ice breaker all the way? It generally is a OHK on trash, not sure if the extra 2 upgrades do a lot more dmg on bosses or not.

Have to agree with a_skeleton_03 on this one. You have no actual evidence to support the theory that PVP bounties give more Vanguard Missives.

My personal situation: went about two weeks without an exotic bounty at all, then got Bad Juju, Thorn, Pocket Infinity, SGA, and Invective bounties all in the space of a few days (this is across three characters). I have never done a single PVP bounty.

RNG is RNG. If you want more exotic bounties, do more regular bounties of any type, including Queen's Wrath. The only thing that matters for certain is that the more times you roll the dice, the greater chance you have of hitting the jackpot on at least one of those rolls.

Edit: Annnnnd just got yet another set of Thorn/Bad Juju/Invective bounties from a missive just now. Yay?

I don't even really know what I'm doing (just hit 20), so I have no currency to buy Suros. Sucks

When you level up your cryptarch he gives you a reward that can have legendaries engrams in it.

If you open a legendary engram now you can get pretty much anything, BUT if you wait for when the new patch goes live to open your cryptarch packages if you get a legendary engram you are guaranteed a legendary.

You can store around 20 or so in the mailbox.

I do wish they gave you the option to toggle off the slow fire rate if you wanted to tho.
Was complaining about that the other night. A mod that has that drastic an impact on the weapon needs a toggle. Both versions are great and have uses but not being able to flip back to burst mode is bummer.

You're assuming that the contents aren't rolled the moment it hits your mailbox, in which case the purple engrams in your mails right now will already be downgraded to blues on patch day. Then again maybe they aren't rolled until you open the mail, but you're taking an unnecessary risk doing it that way, unless you have so many rare engrams that you have no choice but to decode them now. I decoded a bunch to clear up space and take advantage of the nightfall rep bonus, but I stopped just short of the next rank until my vault gets full again. Hopefully the patch is closer to Tuesday than Friday...

BTW, did you end up buying the Vanguard scout rifle? Still curious if the explosion on precision kill is any good, and how many rounds it holds with Field Scout. I was pretty disappointed when I found out that Field Scout on my The Devil You Know only took the gun from 12 to 13 in the magazine. I already have a decent A.1F19X-RYL from a Vanguard care package, but it has different mods and is missing Field Scout. The stock version would have to be pretty damn good to get me to spend 150 marks.
