I have a ton of A&P homework and I don't want to ditch out on the raid if we do it too late. I'll log in and be afk so I can do as much of it as I can before we start.

What's the incentive for even getting iron banner rep at this moment? I looked at the vendor gear and it's nothing special.
I've had terrible luck with PEs today -- haven't managed to pick up a single shard. So close to 28!

I always assumed that the Class items would eventually have special modifiers somewhat akin to those that exist on some armor or subclass unlocks. I was pretty surprised when they turned out to be purely cosmetic.
There is really a ton of purely cosmetic art assets in the game which leads me to believe that they weren't intended to be cosmetic and were designed to have in-game functionality. I don't know anyone who is grinding notes of light because they are really wanting that /_33T skort from the Speaker.
When my buddy's first legendary engram was a class item and he asked what it did and I replied "well, it kinda matches your armor..." He was not amused.

yeah i do 3x PEs daily on all my toons and i always hit the mothyards at :57 or :27 and it appears 90% of the time, if you go right on the dot and you are the only person there it won't spawn. its +/- 2 mins from the website timer, so get there early. Think i'm gonna stop though, i'm up to like 50 shards and have no desire to raid so... why am i farming
iron banner is tragically bad, its pretty much turned into a game of "who wins in the first 30 secs". if your team does well half the other team quits and can't win. which makes sense, you get shit on for losing so why even bother. in 10+ games i have not seen a single person win anything other than blues and shaders. In the beta, didn't the vendor dude sell full armor sets and stuff? Its all crap gear anyways so don't care but just so bizarre to have these events where the rewards are completely worthless.
Goddamn, put a pet dog or something on at rank 5 so people have something to work to.

Got my second exotic bounty today. Have the machine gun, picked the shotgun now (Invicitus or somesuch, other options were Thorn and Bad Juju).
Not sure how long that will take considering I rarely pvp. Also hardly played this in the past two weeks. It got to the "meh" stage real fast. Tired of grinding. Not yet tried raid yet, but don't know. Not really motivated to log in. Thinking about starting a new char, maxed out both hunter subclasses now. Not exactly a very "hunterish" class. Have a sense that if it started to hunt something that turned around and shot back at it, it would die. My tactic solo is usually to find cheese spots. I die really fast it seems.

I had good luck in the weekly trying to solo cheese the archon priest from under the platform/ramp... but not so much with the nightfall :/ How frustrating... all the effort to get to him, and I would have done better with a straight up fight.

It's not an issue of timers, after about 100 PEs I barely even need to look at them anymore. This isn't the first time I've had a ~2 hour period with no spawns at all. The pattern I'm seeing is that it happens when I try to do them at odd hours. My guess is that they did something to drastically drop the spawn rate when only 1-2 people are in the area. When you go to The Divide at primetime and there's 8-10 people there the Devil Walker is a 100% spawn. Morning comes around and there's nobody else around, nothing spawns anywhere in two hours so I give up.
Also I preferDestiny Timers, much more convenient and a far better interface than using one of the websites in a phone browser.
