Once I started re rolling, anytime I saw gold pickup yardage I got rid of it. Kinda sucks really if you want to actually pick up gold.

That moonlight ward makes me cry. I've found 1 at level 70 so far and it was garbage. A friend of mine found a near perfect one, then quit the next day.

The issue is that that the "gear pace" you keep describing isn't a pace nor is it an even distribution. I love that you refer to the pity-legendary timer as an 'even distribution'. It's a timer that escalates your chance at a legendary until you actually get one. It's not a guarantee, nor is it a realistic ceiling or a floor (though I guess it could get close to a 100% guarantee at a specific time frame, but that's never been clarified). You can find 2 in 5 minutes then another 2 hours later (thus 3 in 125 minutes), or you can go 3 hours without any dropping. Both of those are from my personal experiences, so of course their anecdotal but seem to illustrate that it's not even.
I referred to no such thing, so don't try and stick words in my mouth. What I'm referencing is the good:bad legendary ratio. You know you will never find just good items. You know you just may never see something drop. You know these things because that's how the game is designed and built to work. I know the drop rate is streaky. When I can get 5 legendary/set items in 10 minutes and have 4 of them be keepers, I don't cry when I don't get anything for 3 days. Hell realistically I've kept one item in the last week, but I'm not complaining about not getting loot.

The current rate at which good items are acquired, and then irresponsibly destroyed via enchanting is greater than perfect items are kept. Does trading prevent that? Bigger problems exist that the ability to get loot. Please stop talking about trading or getting more/better loot fixes the bigger and more impactful problems. Would you rather get more loot or more stable servers?

If I didn't have my starmetal already (which I got fromtrading, or more appropriately from the general kindness of a guildmate who decided to share it with me during the limited 2 hour window).
What amuses me the most, is that Ao has gotten the rarest (and best) weapon for a WD using the CURRENT IMPLEMENTATION and is whining about it.

We can only have one? It's the same guy working on both problems?
Actually the Network Engineers working on the game's core functionality would explain a few of these decisions lol

I assume he is saying its one of the few "REQUIRED" items do be able to do Blizzard's vision of endgame content at all. Again THAT is the major problem which everyone seems to gloss over and say lol l2pscrub earn dem legendaries (still unclear what earn means in a BoA lottery game). There needs to be a large amount of legendaries that are viable endgame. Period. This is not up for debate, unless you are okay with everyone using the exact same builds and gear. Is Shard of Hate being the end all for like a lightning monk ok? Yep. Is Lightning Monk being the only spec able to do t6 at all ok? Nope. Why does every WD that wants to do T6 have to do a pet build? Why does every barb who wants to solo T6 have to farm a specific set then use a generally specific build with it?

Its unacceptable that there is hardly any variety. If Witching Hour wasn't the best belt by MILES who cares if its so rare. Maybe add a belt with Crit Chance instead, or change one of the loads of shit legendaries to make it not shit. I am fine with the end all gear being uber rare. The fact that its required to make progress is not fine. Please reread that to yourself over and over.

Frankly I could care less about Wand of Woh as an item. The spec doesnt excite me, the play style really isn't my own. Do I absolutely have to have it? Sure do because doing T5+ as a wizard is not reasonable otherwise. Yes it can be done, but its pointless to do because its not efficient. And that is all this game has become, efficiency race 3 "everyone gets their own little Sandbox"

Getting to T6 should be the first step of the endgame. Upgrading endgame items to perfect endgame items should be the next part. Currently there is two classes of items: Shit and Required. There is no in between, and its disappointing. Best example I can give off top of my head that would apply to everyone: Did you know there are more then 3 rings in the game? Blizzard seemed to forget when they made RRoG, SoJ and Unity the default, no argument best rings to use. Like there is not another option AT ALL. The worst part is noone is really sure if Unity with invincible follower is going to get nerfed or not, and if it does that list drops to 2. This happens to A LOT of slots for A LOT of classes and its FUCKING SAD.

That it amuses you shows you don't understand what several people have already articulated. But, thank you for sparing us the long winded diatribe Hate Monkey has been giving us.

BTW, I have a Star of Azkaranth sitting in my stash. RAREST ITEM IN THE GAME!!!! Guess I can't complain about loot anymore!

I also have a Star of Azkaranth, and a pretty shitty version of it.

I don't have an SMK, TnT's, or any pieces of Zuni. I do have a Mask of Jeram though, and I enjoy the shit out of playing my WD and will likely continue to play my gimpy WD for a long time to come.

SMK is NOT REQUIRED for Torment 6, it is DESIRED.

Blizzards end game for Diablo is Torment. It's rated from 1 to 6 in difficulty. Torment 1 is the starter area for the end game. Torment 6 is where the big boys in BiS items get to play.

People with higher Paragons, and knowledge can do Torment 6 a little earlier without needing ALL of the end game gear to do it. Groups of experienced players that work in unison with each other can do it even sooner.

Isn't that EXACTLY how we like our games?

I tell you what, if Torment 1 to 6 was gated, and had to be completed in order, solo, and with a timer, your arguments would be valid.

Its hard to take anyone seriously when they are using a +xp gem in their helm. Sorry it just is. Anyways that was not the point of what I said, I said if there was more build diversity that was useful at higher torment levels then more legendaries would be useful thus less fucking bitching about 95% of the items that drop being god damn awful.

You know how I don't like my games? Hey look a legendary dropped! Cool I hope its good. Oh its a god damn 2 hander...insta salvage before id. Oh hey its not one of the two useable gloves...trash 100% of the time because Magefist is better for every decent endgame build but those who use tasker and theo, and maybe lightning monk. Oh hey a non set chest dropped that isn't a cindercoat. Trash. A ring that isn't a SoJ or Unity? Trash, rare rings can be better in that situation. The list goes on.

It should be oh hey a legendary chest dropped. Lets see. Oh neat a "Whatever Legendary" Sure it isn't a cindercoat for a fire build but a lightning wizard is good too and this helps that because it adds a small stun to lightning damage and 10% bonus to lightning damage. Or hey its a chest that helps arcane builds, or cold builds or whatever builds.

Extreme end game should NOT be Fire Barb EQ / Hammer, WoW Wizard, Pet WD, every DH using cluster arrow because they have to, Lightning Monk / IDK if fire is the required one here might be, and fuck knows crusader? Captain America build I guess? Like really.... why cant a frost wizard be good in t6, or arcane outside of a group, or a phys barb, poison WD? Cold DH, the list goes on, but Whatever, Endgame is torment 1 even though I was at T1 the second I hit 70 (i didnt drop from T1 leveling from 60-70). If thats endgame then wtf.

Did you read the part where I mentioned player knowledge? It's overlooked quite a lot. The large majority of us posters in this thread have a very, very good idea how to play D3. So we tend to gloss over what wethinkwe know is common knowledge.

A guy (crusader) in general today was bitching about not getting good legendaries, so I asked what mode he was farming on. He replied that he was doing Normal Rifts. I asked why he wasn't doing at least T1 and he told me it was because he got more legendaries. A few minutes later, he links a UID Blackguard and says, "see, I told you." He ID's it and links a Blackguard without STR or a socket. Everyone tells him to salvage it, and he replies "but why? if I reroll the attack speed to STR, it'd be better than the one I have! and it's even got a socket." I do a quick wtf? and find out he's using an Imperial Ruby in the socket. No amount of arguing at that point did the guy admit that using a CHD gem was going to be better for him. Someone else in the chat was talking about Rubies only being good to people with no crit, and that he was playing a zero crit barbarian.

That guy has no idea how to play D3. Shit, I'd almost bet that guy sucks at video games in general. This is the reason YOU are able to do T1 as a fresh 70, and some people struggle to do Master. No amount of "good" legendaries is going to make that guys crusader T6 capable, because the problem is between the keyboard and the chair.

Seriously? xp gem is a bad idea? that's the best you've got?

The issue here is that once you get into the 400+ hours, and still keep on getting the same damn legendarys over and over and over and over and over again, you start to doubt the "random" loot system. The odds for you getting the same pants 6 times in a row are so small (given the possible pool) that you KNOW something is fucked up on Blizzards side of thing.

If you have played 180 hours and claim to have 5 items that will last you into T6, I congratulate you. Unfortunatly a lot of people have played several times that number of hours and are still looking for shit that allows them to get access to T2+.

Now, I can do T6 in a good group that dont wanna rush things but I cant solo it. That works for me since I realized that speed-running T1-T2 solo takes about 1/4 of that time and provides me the same number of drops (actually, it gives waaaay more drops) but the issue I am having is that I get the same damn items. I have by now trashed 4 (FOUR!) green hand crossbows of the same type (spite) and most people would agree that when 4/6 green items you see in a week is the same item there is something fishy going on.

Stack whatever elemental damage % modifier that your skills are, crit and crit damage should be roughly 1:10 ratio, so 5% crit chance 50% crit damage, attack speed is almost always inferior to crit/crit damage (few specific exceptions to this), always socket emeralds and always have a socket in your weapon(s), never use a 2h unless you're crusader, run at least SOME area damage (50% from paragon is usually enough), pick up % skill mods for your most used/highest damage skill where you can. That's basically the gist of it outside some class specific stuff for mojos/quivers/sources.

Since you seem to be wise in these matters; If I have a weapon doing poison damage, but my primary skill turns my damage into holy... will my +10% holy weapon damage affect said poison weapon?

Every skill turns the entire damage into the damage type of the skill. The elemental affix on weapons only comes into play when using the default attack (lvl1 char or out of resource attacks) or on followers. In other words, it's a confusing leftover from the pre-2.0 game that doesnt matter.

You should rarely, if ever, reroll secondary stats. You should be rerolling one of the primary stats on an item to make it better. Life replenishment skills are meh for wizards. Your goal should always be MOAR damage.

Played a couple of hours last night with my brother. I got 4 Legendaries he got one. In your face.

Goldwrap, nagelring, and two 2 handers. One green one orange. So 4 souls.

He got a near perfect SOJ.
