In Luxemburg from around 700 ad until the current day they have the proceddion of Echternag.

From 700 to 1500 this proccesion would walk a set route, with everyone taking three steps forward, then two steps back.

The only thing different from this procession and D4, is that the procession never failed to arrive at its goal.

The procession still happens yearly, though the walking pattern was replaced by something easier.

They don't need to +1 loot, they need -50 shit affixes that make 99% of drops a sea of instant trash.
What they really need to do is put most of the shit affixes into a 5th slot that doesn't compete with the other 4 real slots.

No one ever said they shouldn't fix loot. I just said its the easiest fix to attract the lowest common denominator type of player ... like you've shown yourself to be. Any time an ARPG wants to attract people back in a short time frame, they make +1 loot, advertise it as a big player buff and the Ambiturner's of the world come flocking back to their shitty game because they somehow believe it will make a difference to a game that's flawed in a 1000 different places. Loot fixes, if done right but that is far from a given with Blizzard, will make Diablo 4 a bit better but under the hood, it's still Diablo 4, and it's still shit regardless of you getting a new hard on for it.
What a stupid as fuck take. The loot system is broken on a fundamental level and needs to be completely redesigned. They aren’t fixing loot until an expansion at the earliest, so you get to pay even more for a non-shit system.

The loot system can never be good as long as the shit ass aspect system exists. It's the dumbest fucking legendary take in any iteration of Diablo that has ever existed.

Thats a good idea, d3 had your 4 core slots that would roll mostly all good options and then 5/6 were the +exp, reduced level requirement, +specific resist, +loot radius type nonsense.

Problem that this game seems to have is too many things that would fit in your 4 slots, when you really only want 4 out of 40.

Aspects just need to be sockets on the skill tree for your skills, only drop from dungeons and auto upgrade when a better one drops.

Uniques should be skill agnostic effects all classes can use, like Azurewarth makes all melee attacks deal ice damage or something. They should also have upgradable item levels from killing uber bosses or something.

It just makes loot super awkward when you know something isn't an upgrade even though the stats are better, because you need the legendary effect and don't have a way to put it onto the new item yet, or you need the unique effect. So your stash fills with stuff you want to equip but can't.

As others have said, there is just no salvaging what is already in the game.

I would be more of a proponent to the idea of having this many affixes if, and only if, .. say half of them, could actually be morphed into a build for one class or another. Thats asking for what, 20 more builds, spread across a handful of classes? Thats not asking a lot in my opinion, but I know the big brained, fresh out of school dev's might have a problem with it. But then, how they did the buckets and all of that bullshit? That just ruins any type of build that most of the affixes could do. Anything that could even remotely be "neat" about this type of setup has had its legs sweeped out from under it and.. its just boring, lame, unintuitive as it sits.

They need to let all one billion people at Blizzard take home a sheet of all the affixes, and let them just come up with some off the wall shit. Im a sucker for +1 Hydra type shit, Spell interactions and more. I'd really like to see them take influence from Vampire Survivor and let spells morph under certain circumstances. Standing in a puddle of water - your flames are steam. Ice, you shoot ice crystals. ... There is just so much more that ARPG's could do, period. Yet, here we are, looking at Diablo 4's demise and most people looking at POE 2 have a "meh, but cool" kind of reaction.

It just needs some bare minimum imagination.

Change +1 Hydra to +1 to Summon and we have an interesting stat multiple classes can use. Maybe specific +Hydras can stay on Sorc weapons.

Have it only roll on specific base items and Rogues/Barbarians know not to pick up that stuff.

Have +Summon and +Summon Damage be mutually exclusive and we have some gear choices to make.

It's so fucking easy.

The fixes for loot are pretty damn simple. Even a drop filter would go a long way in the games current state. Granted it could be days before you see even a useful drop, but at least I'm not sorting thru trash.

Gold for rerolls on gear or respecs needs to REALLY be toned down also since we aren't picking up a bag full of trash to sell.

They're not moving away from personal loot. That's pretty much something set in stone. Blizzard is big on personal loot across all of their games.

maybe a affix lottery, like pick6 and you get a weighted roll

or that affix guy, don't limit the affix reroll to only 1 affix, who really gives a shit if you can reroll all the affix's?

getting to choose 2 out of 4 affix to reroll is resonable

Definitely agree, and also there needs to be some sort of cap on the reroll cost, make it 5 million, I don't care, but when it gets to 30+ mill it is insane, especially when certain stats seem to always be super rare to begin with.

They said the cost is getting reworked so see how it is next week. Say it will have a higher initial cost on the first roll but significantly cheaper as it goes up from there.

This class rework stream right now. They're reallllllyyyyy trying to add PoE math to D4, but they're just going to leave some big glaring holes all over. Either a bunch of stuff they thought would be good are still going to be useless or they fucked the scaling and there's going to be a giga invest stat or stats just like Crit and Vuln were.

At least it'll be interesting for the first one-two weeks when people figure shit out on the fly since there won't be any Maxroll guides at the ready.
