So what happens when the season ends and your characters are merged on to the eternal server or whatever the hell it is?

Since this season didn't have any season specific mechanics, your character will just move to the eternal server once the season ends. Normally, seasons have specific seasonal content that typically dont move to the eternal servers so your character will move to eternal just without any of the seasonal content.
