I dunno where it's maintained now but there WAS an ENB-series passthrough mod that did ssao and DOF without frying your gpu for a while.... I remember turning down the ssao since most the textures had ao baked in pretty thick.

It's not pimped-out skyrim porn but I don't think it looks that bad. The gameplay and the story is still topnotch but the original graphics has gotten pretty long in the tooth. On the bright side, the game's old enough that even a low-end discrete GPU in just about any PC can rock out the mod pretty easily.

Haha, no. It was more or less meant to really showcase my frustration. I have CE's on preorder for all 4 of those games I listed (Except Borderlands, as I don't think one has been announced.) so that should give you some indication of how into those games I am. So come AC:Unity, it will be a slow decline of me gaining games to sit until I finally 100% the former, and then onwards to the next.

Yea, don't get me wrong they made the women look nice - but they don't look anything like themselves above the neck. Alistair they had the sense to leave the same - don't see why they didn't do the same with the ladies. (And I'm hoping that's not Leliana in the front, if it is, even more of a travesty [unlikely with the shield, I know but not impossible IIRC])

I like that Morrigan. I assume thats the player character in front.

Dragon Age: Beauty Pageant

I just lifted the screen with the most obvious DOF and ssao effects in the shot for the mod's effects--the High-res textures are hard to appreciate without a before shot so I just linked that one. To be fair there's a shitton of fan-sourced models and faces for DAO that are better but I'd agree that altering Morrigan so dramatically is a bad idea considering she's essentially the series mascot. There's a few mods that improve her looks but still keep her identifiably Morrigan.

Anyways, the ENB mod is inactive and I'm not sure where you can get it, but there's a ton of graphics mods and tutorials on getting them working on youtube. Haven't played the game in a while but I did play with a bunch of ironman and dog-mule mods last.

The hands still look terrible, so you know it's a Bioware game.

I vividly remember the main characters sister in DA 2 showing her hands, and she looked like she had fucking ET hands or some shit. Worst hand art, ever.

Yeah, those hands... They were like that in the Mass Effect games too.

As for DA:O mods, there are tons. Last time I did a DA:O play through I installed theSacred Ashes modsfor Leliana and Morrigan so they looked more like they did inthat trailer. Then there's theQunari updateover at bioware that you can install to make Sten look more like the Qunari from DA2 and DA:I. And then there are quality of life mods, likeauto loot,high def textures,skip the fade,advanced tactics,a chest for your camp,Dog as a 5th companion, and of course,a modded shirt for Morrigan.

If you're going to go crazy with the mods, you probably want to installa mod managerso you don't completely bork your game.
