So anyone else 2h warrior on nightmare? Im about to pick my spec and really having issues with survivability so thinking of going Champion. The last ability in it makes you immune from damage for 8 seconds, cooldown of 32, and it has lots of ways to build guard. What spec did you go or plan on going?

I know reaver is what everyone kinda goes 2h for, but I really don't see it working with how much damage I am taking. I cant block/slash everything.

Well the invuln is nice but once it's down, you don't have all that much in the tree that's useful. The taunt is suicide without a shield(or the invuln). Do you not play with a tank though? Tanks hold aggro well enough and you can do damage in that case. If you're the only "tank", going more defensive will probably be better.

Well, I was trying to be the tank and put out dps (Varric, dorian, solas) but that wasn't working, so swapped out Varric for Cassandra. Yeah, might just be better to go Reaver.

The other issue is keybinds.

Block and Slash
Grapple
Warcry
Charging Bull
Whirlwind
Mighty Blow
Focus ability
Shattered Ground

all my keybinds are taken up before even doing my spec and outside of warcry and shattered ground, all feel very key. I could drop warcry and maybe shattered ground for two abilities in reaver? But I think in reaver you need ring of pain, devour and several other skills. uggh.

Ive been trying to play with Blackwall for this playthrough but he just seems soooooooooo inferior to Cassandra. My Cassandra was beast on last playthrough and well....this guy is no Cassandra :/

For Reaver you need 3 skills(for every spec really there's 3 skills). You could easily drop Mighty Blow though, it's just not gonna be useful with Dragon's Rage as your spam damage skill. Warcry for ring of pain and then probably shattered ground or block and slash for the heart thing to regen life. Though tbh I'm not sure how useful it is versus just using regen potions and a heal on kill/heal on hit type of item.

They're pretty much exactly the same. Cass has slightly higher magic mitigation, Blackwall slightly higher physical mitigation. Makes no difference, though I haven't checked if companions get racials too, that'd put blackwall ahead. I just finished doing a zone with Blackwall instead of Cass and couldn't tell a difference other than barriers being more annoying. Make sure to turn off Line in the sand as it eats stamina for nothing but otherwise they perform the same.

My only gripe so far is getting stuck in tactical mode and no key presses will do anything, same thing happens in the war room but alt tab'ing in and out fixes it.

Well there's a lot of bugs, glitches and so on. Game's still really good though, despite that shit. People with the console versions though have some of the worst issues. Just having only one save slot is terrible with the fact they can be corrupted.

Oh for sure, I was very skeptical to buy it but I'm glad I did. It's amazing.

hrm. Kindof sound like a broken record, as I was already critical. But the more I see, the less interested in this I am.
The horrible delivery, and timing. dead uncanny character models. A general over emphasis on "story". (I never even went back for "a blade in the dark" in skyrim for example.)
Cutscene after cutscene. horrible awkward dating sim with dead uncanny delivery, forcing itself on you. closeups on faces that look horrible.

how easy is it to just avoid that shit? ME2 infuriated me, by it absolutely forcing itself on you. Just having the conversations, and acting friendly, resulted in the propositions, if you wanted them or not.

He says the story is not quite as good as origins.. can't say I liked origins much.
The morrigan and Flemeth characters are retarded, and them being dragged back over and over.. ugh.

Crossroads keep element I do like.

Skip it. No need to agonize over it.

I'd say most here that aren't perpetual haters of just about anything will enjoy it. It's very well done as a whole.

Pretty much every person on this forum that has tried it has said they like it. If that isn't enough for you, move on. Clearly if you are bothered by silly things like a NPC flirting with you, this isn't the game for you. Though honestly, I haven't had any character initiate flirting that I didn't start first.

Clearly not looking at the PC version. No game has done faces better than this one.
Clearly.

There are spots where shadowing on faces is off if the character is backlit but that's pretty much every bioware game these days. It makes it appear as though the face has transformed but in reality it is just the lighting. It's like their lighting guy doesn't know how to light close ups in certain situations.

Why would anyone complain about bioware cut scenes. I mean really? And no npc will flirt with you outright unless you initiate the flirting.

I turned shadows to medium and put everything else on Ultra and haven't had any weird lighting issues.

most games aren't dumb enough to give you closeups as if they think the game is a Disney movie. Taking what is intended to be a meaningful interaction and showing a dead face is really off-putting to me. Its far LESS engaging, then if you just let me fill in the gaps. A classic FF7 sprite has more emotion tied to it.

Not sure if Joe used pc or console footage. alot of it looked pretty bad texture wise, so I thought console. but, he did also mention the controller issue. stating he used a controller, and turned if off iirc, when he heard people complaining about pc controls. and in general made notes of the "poor PC port" complaints.
