I watched quite a bit today when I wasn't staring at mikkas tits and I think I'll pass for now. Maybe when they add more content and better matchmaking.

Got a link to Mika's tits?

Is she playing it on a dance pad yet?

Has anyone in here beaten the game yet? I haven't gotten past the title screen.

Game is getting 8/10+ across the board so my "budget title" fears were unfounded, should have known better. Main issue people seem to have is that it's mostly reused ER content. Reusing so much stuff would have been a bit more palatable if they reused more from the other games (and there was zero reason not to). Then instead of reused assets, they become "retro"

Finally got to play some of this. A few characters seem to be missing, only have 6 available. The assassin lady helped with the intro boss, died, and is nowhere to be found in the Hold.

Weird thing happened, first time I picked the cerberus level, it sat at "matchmaking" for ages until I rebooted the game.

Not sure if I should have the game set on "No Matchmaking" or "Perform Matchmaking" for cross-region play because it started on No as the default.

Playing as Sekiro guy and spending most of the time crawling around on the ground because he starts with basically NO hit points. Even fodder enemies are beating him in two hits. Not sure how his L2+triangle special attack works. Going to switch around.

Archer seems like the OP character, especially for noob-arses. Eagle dude is probably the coolest.

Played with Hatorade Hatorade and I think it’s pretty fun. Faster paced for sure. A few things are stupid. No in game voice chat and when in the same lobby you are in your own round table holds.

Only thing that remedies this is good ol fashioned discord to at least communicate.

This game is probably the hardest it'll ever be on day one, before anybody really knows what they're doing. In a week it'll likely be much easier to get through in general.

Six runs and have yet to beat the first world, though I got REALLY close on run 4 by actually reaching Cerberus and then barely losing (both the others were down, but one had one hit left to revive them, and one of the wolves got in the way of my shot, and that was that). That group really knew what they were doing and you could tell, compared to the rest of the runs.

Are the bosses supposed to have this much health? Fell Omen at the end of Night 2 on the latest run had so many HP that after almost two minutes of fighting we'd only gotten him down to about 75% when we wiped.

The most bullshit thing is when the purple fire shows up while you're in mines or a cave of some sort. Once it goes over that area you basically have to run all the way out through the purple fire and I die every time that happens.

Losing a level when dying also seems kinda stupid, not sure what the point is besides demoralizing you a bit. Isn't it enough punishment that you have to go run back and pick up your souls (and usually can't because you usually died in the convergence of purple fire)?

Archer continues to be wildly OP, though I'm reading that the giant dude (Raider I think) is probably the other best character. Unfortunately, the ones I planned to play (Duchess and Executor) are both really weak in HP, especially out of the gate.

Edit: Use password FEXTRA on the matchmaking screen, it's the Fextralife community password and tends to match me with much better players.
We don't like fextralife here. Can we can him Amod Amod

What'd he do, he a woke?

Bowing to public pressure and edited out the link. I know nothing except I saw a password somewhere and it worked (at first).

What should I be spending my currency on? None of the available items actually seem good, except maybe Besmirched Flame?

The bosses have so much HP because you're underleveled.

You need to be 5 > 10 > 15 by the night lord for their HP to make sense. Which no one will ever be.

Your run is essentially over if you ever lose a level, or don't get to kill minimum 2 bosses the first night, and then 3-4 on night 2. The actual window to be properly geared/leveled to fight the night lord is craaaaaazy tight.

This game is cool but it should've been 20$. Still for me it's worth it. For most probably not and even less so if you don't like the BR/rogue element of it.

Main thing people don’t like is embedded videos on pages that count as views. Amounts to view botting their twitch streams.

Theres other stuff like over modding and inaccurate info, banning people that point out the inaccuracy trying to get it fixed.

How very 2021's of him

That would explain a lot. The two times I got to the cerberus, my party was barely level 10 (like 9-11 in range). Certainly not 15. On the latest run, we actually did really well, and got the Cerberus to half health (surviving his initial triplet-split) at level 11. I'll say this, the quality of players is much better so far on day 2 than day 1, you can tell people are figuring shit out.

As somebody with 400 hours or something on Elden Ring and not even done yet (lot of DLC left), I think I might actually be tapping out on Nightreign, folks. It's a really neat idea and COULD be fun, but the lack of any sort of checkpoints kinda kills it. I can only take so many "spend 30 minutes on a level and then die on the boss and lose all progress" situations. Once you get to the Night Lord, it should really give you more than one shot at the fight. Starting you outside the boss door would make actual sense. If that's too gimpy, then give the players 3 tries, or something. Good luck learning a fight when it's 30 minutes between attempts. I don't think I've gotten any particular handle on the Cerberus' moveset in the couple times I got there.

Not complaining about the game being hard, complaining that it doesn't respect my time by having some goddamn checkpoints. I complained about the same thing in South Park Snow Day a few months ago (which was a really similar game, weirdly enough).

Would have been nice if they'd made all eight worlds available from the get-go to get some variety, rather than making people do world 1 over and over and over and over before they get to the world select. I'm sure there's a reason why they didn't (like filtering people out) but yeah.

One of the reasons Elden Ring is great (and so user-friendly) is that you're never boxed into doing anything to progress. Matter of fact you're constantly progressing. This one, you're essentially boxed in right from the beginning with world 1, and losses aren't progressing anything it seems like. What am I gaining each time I spend 30 minutes on this and lose? Fuck-all, apparently, except currency I can spend in a shop on a few things that basically do nothing, like "start levels with some fire pots".

It's actually kind of depressing spending time on this.

This is basically Elden Ring: The Arcade Game

Protip: L3 sprint is WAY faster than circle sprint. Was wondering why some people were outrunning me by a lot at first.

They really need to get rid of the "level loss" thing, it's what kills the game. And add a checkpoint before the world boss.

Yet another loss to the Cerberus at about 50%, we did really well on that one too for a fight with a 40 minute run-back. I thought that was going to be the one, since I finally (after ten runs) had a holy weapon the boss is weak against. Nope, still did basically no damage because level 9. Now back to level 1.

I know better than anybody that Fromsoft games tend to piss you off a lot in the first few hours before becoming The Best Thing Ever, but I think I'm good on this one. Never put down a Fromsoft game before, especially not after one day. This almost happened with Bloodborne (my first one) until I gained an Insight and discovered I could now level up. No such progress happening here, no real revelations besides L3 sprint and "equip things in all slots for their passives", no gaining power because the things you can buy in the Hold are all terrible.

The Night Lords are the best part of this, and seem to be the only new content, but you only get to engage with them every once in a while and spend the rest of the time running back to them.

Big disappointment here, oh well.
