Most of the TLPers I know are over it. Between Fangbreaker, THJ lawsuit, random bans, this uninspired server is making people look for other things.

Yeah I saw the rules, and haven't done any of those, last did I think it was the aradune server in 2020. I'll be in on this one at least to see luclin and key for VT, which was where I burned out last time.

The biggest issue with the new server is that its counter to the actual player base of TLP. The bulk of people who loved classic to pop do so because they loved to group with real people and not just box 6 chars.
The new server is going to be a boxing server. Solo people wont be able to find groups much there. If you dont plan to box 6 or more you wont like the server much for sure.

Bard is always fun, always wanted(especially in raids), in early EQ though its kind of boring and simple, especially if you have played any later bard. Picks up more and more after PoP.
Basically going to be holding a instrument(mainly drum for speed/resists) + epic until you get a songblade in PoP.

I've always been a fan of slow burning AAs. Chilling with people in random exp / loot camps while slowly unlocking minor stat boosts, or fun useful abilities (like the shaman disease root knockback, fun as hell to root magic immune mobs for cc!)
No doubt they lack the programming ability, but if they released a Kunark server with all AA's available I'd be in on that. Would it be broken OP eventually? Yeah, but like the MoP remix server, it was goddamn fun to break things and get stronger every single day with almost no limit.

I'm guessing with random loot and free trade, keying for shit like Veeshan's peak and Vex thal is going to be much, much easier? Or even something I could buy if I farm up a bunch of plat?

With Velious start and random loot VP key will be irrelevant.
VT and Emp keys are really easy with Free Trade and Random loot.
If you stick around till OoW your 2.0 it will be the most miserable experience you'll have ever playing Everquest.
