This is easily the most ass backwards take i've heard about the game. THJ had dropable/attune loot. Since one of the ways to level items was to buy copies and combine them farming items to sell was one of the best ways to level items. Farming items to sell rewards doing things other people aren't doing. Also, if you were playing an off meta build the items you needed were generally cheaping and easier to come by. THJ's systems rewarded playing off meta.

EQLegends took away these systems to "prevent RMT"

I also didnt see too much of the world being used in THJ either. It was pretty much farm x/y/z raid mobs of the era. The rest of the world, like 95% of it was useless.

The only time I ever got out was when doing epic quests for the various classes. And that was fun as hell. I think you helped me on my first SK quest, If I remember right, beating some raid boss in CoM when I was still weak as hell, lol.

I feel this was way overblown about THJ AA spots. I mean I started in classic and I did the Lguk thing for a very brief time and was fine. You are going to be getting on everyday to farm raid mobs or whatever and you quickly get maxed AA that way. At the very least maxed enough you are putting points in like innate charisma because you have nothing left to do.

Might of been different for someone who started in velious, but I still feel like whatever you do you will be gaining significant amounts of AAs. Just because it isn't the absolute fastest shouldn't really matter. Hell on Live EQ I use to swarm fire tables during PoP to quickly rake in AA, even when max level got bumped up to 70 it was the quickest exp. That doesn't mean people had to do it.

Anyone playing on Rivervale running an enchanter? i need to have some enchanted platinum bars made and Ive got too many other classes id rather level than an enchanter :p

SK question; I just hit 37 and Scream of Death does half the damage of Vamp Embrace. Why would I now use Scream?

I finally was able to max out steadfast will AA and swap out of ogre race. Until I was able to get the shrink shroud or DE guise I found it being a pain maneuvering through certain dungeons. No more repositioning everything in front of me or getting melee stunned from the rear. It’s a lot of points but was well worth it for me.

Unless they add custom shit I don't think Kunark is much of an upgrade to Sky weapons and Inny loot. Part of what made weapon upgrades was that delays fell between classic and velious - with a damage bonus that scales with delay it doesn't have an effect in EQL.

The upgrade to a lot of this shit is in ntov.

Well in that case they better add some custom shit or buff some existing. Why even play through Kunark if there isnt any upgrades.

I'm sure they will buff plenty of stuff in Kunark, but the dungeons are just so much fun I'd still be happy to do them even if the loot isn't a massive upgrade.

This is really good info especially now that im leveling a shaman in place of my enchanter. Shaman is just too damn good not to play one imo. I believe an enchanter is much better to use in Sky but everywhere else a shaman is where it’s at. Direct damage, DoTs, heals, stat buffs, HoTs, haste, slows, puma and their pets are pretty decent too. I just found playing an enchanter and recharming a mob is pretty fucking annoying for me cause of the random breaks. Even using Overchannel, leveled spell and having negative magic resist gear in pet inventory it happens too often. It’s just the micro managing I don’t like. Maybe I was never a pet/minion type player. Mez is very powerful but as a shaman I can throw a HoT on myself, pop into empower stance while in defense stance, DoT the mobs and face tank them until they die. I’ve even dotted healer mobs and they couldn’t keep up healing themselves dying from the dots.

Nagafen down...barely. I don't know when my pet died, but it was before Naggy was at 50%. I need to figure out how to keep him out of the AoE or something.
I tried using the Bard charm on Vox's priest yesterday, but I got destroyed every time it wore off. Not sure if I want to try it again with an upgraded Charm or just try her with my pet.
