Think I'll pick up vinland as well. And hell maybe I'll do one piece. By the time I catch up we'll probably be on the final arc in the anime anyway. Generally prefer to avoid the awesome anime as I like to experience the wtf moments with anime watches so chainsaw, jjk, solo, and demon slayer are off the table.

Tokyo ghoul and Gantz came highly recommended so I put them on the reading list so I think I'm good for the next couple years lol.

Other than manga, there's a ton of great light novels and web novels out there too if you've never checked those out. I use https://www.novelupdates.com/ to look up a series or search for something new, everything is tagged well with ratings and reviews and links to translations. Light Novels PDF has a lot of stuff in PDF form.

Dark history of the reincarnated villainess is pretty enjoyable to me, and I'm not normally into that sort of show. The subtitles are complete aids though.

Uh...ok so maybe this was addressed in a way that doesn't make it a huge plothole but when a pure titan eats a shifter titan they regain control of themselves and inherit the shifter titan powers right?

So why didn't the titan that ate Eren way back in the first season become the new attack titan? They don't have functional digestive systems so at what arbitrary point does the shifter titan count as being eaten?

Supposedly its because he wasn't "chewed" - that the titan didn't get the spinal fluid and Eren must've transformed since he was swallowed whole.

Yeah sorta hashed that out in discord. But shifters who die without being eaten have their power inherited by another subject of Ymir so what would have happened if Eren had died with his spine intact? Does the shifter power stay with his body until he starts to rot and his spinal fluid starts to leak out?

Seems more like just something that wasn't really well thought out by the mangaka rather than a plothole.

That manga was all over the place, and even after finishing I had to wait until the anime was done and people dumped some explanation videos before I could make sense of a lot of it. There's plenty of times I just said "this dude is making up some bizarre shit on the fly just to drag this manga out".

The post-credit scenes convinced me that the writer is a mid-talent hack who just got lucky with how the first couple volumes turned out, or however many volumes are what became S1 of the anime.

I've watched the first couple with my wife. We both found it pretty hilarious. Seems to be well written.

Villainess Level 99 is my favorite of those kinds of shows. I also recommend Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, it's kind of a similar style but a male MC.

Looks like there will be no s3 Solo Leveling, instead a theatrical movie release in 2026.

Not sure how I feel about it, doubtful I will go to movies to see anything so just feels I have to wait even longer to watch besides shitty cams. Can't say I blame them though after how much money Demon Slayer and CSM made/are making.

Trapped in a dating sim is pretty funny, just the right amount of edgelordiness.

Regarding this week's MHA episode

Honestly I'm over One For All's obnoxiously elaborate plans and contingencies for everything, but god damn if finding out that Decay was just a degraded copy of Overhaul didn't blow my mind a bit. That's also why Shigaraki was constantly scratching himself, either because he got Chisaki's allergies along with the quirk copy or else it was just a side effect of it not being a good match for his body like Aoyama.
