Got this and Dead Cells from friends for Christmas, both for XB1 and it is crazy how much more enjoyment the ~500 meg indy title is giving me with about 10 hours into each. I have an X one X and this might be the worst optimized game I've ever played on it. I didn't see an option to bump it down to 1080p for a better frame rate so I guess I'm stuck at 20-30fps when I'm playing. It's kind of strange though was trying to look up some information on reddit and the official board and I can only describe it as cult like for the people posting there. The survival element seems tacked on and the amount of disease you get versus the options to remove said diseases seems very disproportionate. It's a shame because the core gameplay of exploring and smashing stuff isn't half bad. Other positives I can say for it that playing as a heavy armor melee 2hander is fun smashing heads and the quests that work work really well (Mistress of Mystery and DMV so far). Not sure if I have it in me to do the equivalent of a hate fuck to play this to the end but I will probably hop on if I see the guy who gave it to me and his cousin on. They told me where to find a hazmat suit and would launch a nuke the next time we are all on and I kind of want to see that.

You think frame rates are bad now, wait until that nuke goes off. I don't know how the xone is going to handle it but in some places with the PC they go directly in the toilet.

So wait, the company handling in game reports isn't sure if there's an essay requirement in ban appeals? Is that what I'm reading?

And how would you handle an appeal without a message to go along with it? Calling it an essay is a bit pretentious. But you would have to write some sort of paragraph. Unless you're just gonna get banned and then spam gay porn to the email address they provide. I guess calling it an essay might stop of some of the twitter style retardadtion which i'm sure is 99% of emails replying to bans. Replace essay with "A short statement detailing your case and why you feel this judgement was made in error" might be a bit better.

No, that's not what you're reading. That's a Reddit mod saying the reports of banned people having to write an essay is unverified and maybe bogus.

Which, I kind of believe. It's hard to believe Bethesda caring about essays. A company that big just bans and forgets.

If it was true though I would love to write an essay:

"I played your game which you had completely destroyed in the development process because you wanted to make back a horrible business decision investing in Battle Cry Studios. The only way to make your game even close to an Alpha version of EverQuest was to employ 3rd party mods. I understand that you do not want people to do this because you ultimately need everyone to use Creation Club - therefore you make royalties on gamers who are actually better at making games than your hired staff. I cannot imagine the ego hit you took on New Vegas when Obsidian kicked FO3 and 4's asses in - but I cannot even imagine the salt in the wound when a 13 year old could outshine your best development efforts across all your teams. Please do not reinstate my account. Love - Utnayan"

Got the game over Christmas. I’m liking it. Even with all of the cannon blunders and bugs within the game, I really like how the perk system works. I’m enjoying the music within the game. I especially love building my own little place in the middle of no-where. I really like how they have the power armor, building plans and food recipes setup as well.

The game seems unbalanced in areas. Level 30’s getting stomped with my level 15 and getting stomped by level 16’s with my level 22. /boggle

You thought Fallout 76 wasn't going FTP?

400k boxes is a commercial failure. That number needs to be around 1.2m for a remotely successful game.

The piece of shit IP Might and Magic remakes did over 1 million buys under Ubisoft leadership with no promotion or announcement. 400k for a AAA studio is where you get the 82% off number from. PC sales might be as low as 50k boxes.

Curt's game Kingdoms of Amalur did around 330k buys on launch week and final buys were at 1.22m buys. total.

Its over for Bethesda. They are very deep underwater. Vanguard Saga of heroes 2.0

A collectible bottle that of rum for a popular IP isn’t the worst investment. However, the Nuka bottle being a shitty plastic shell vastly reduces its desirability.

Exactly Some of the bros here have seen my Fallout alter and I’ve happily spent hundreds if not a few thousand on rare bobble heads and fun collector items. If Fallout 76 would have been a Good single player I would have bought that rum probably. Can’t hate on the guy for wanting some Nuka cola. I’m dead serious I’d drink a real quantum Nuka full of rads if I could.

Hopefully this means they'll take a minute, re evaluate, and make a good fallout game next time.

I have faith that they can. They'll have to reverse their stances on modding though.

I don't expect they will. But they could. They'll just go back to making elder scrolls games.

It boggles me how they don't realize a strong nodding community is, and has always been, integral to the success of their games. You would have to willfully ignore it the fact is so obvious.

I got a good 20-30 hours of decent fun outta this game but I can’t keep going, there’s too much dead space; 10% of the time I go out exploring on my own I run into something worthwhile. 90% of the time it’s empty or seems unfinished or boring. Wrong ratio
