Going #2 in my work 12 man league, normal setup (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, K, D) and picking #2. Guy going #1 plans on taking Jamaal Charles... so... AP or McCoy? I know whichever one I don't pick is going to have a monster season. I almost want to lean toward McCoy but with Sproles being there now I can see him losing yards to him, but not necessarily scores. AP though is just too damn reliable, unless he blows up his knees again.
Charles/McCoy/AP was thefirst real question of the thread=)

It doesn't matter who you pick, one of the others will end up with 1800 yards and 25 TDs while your guy misses 4 games and only has 5 tds on the season. At least that's what always seems to happen to me!

I'd go McCoy if it's a ppr but you can't go wrong either way. AP is my 4th pick in a ppr draft tho

Well had my draft just now (12 man league):

QB: Drew Brees
RB: Adrian Peterson
RB: Zac Stacy
WR: Victor Cruz
WR: DeSean Jackson
TE: Dennis Pitta
Flex: Torrey Smith
DEF: Buccaneers
K: Blair Walsh

Bench

QB: Joe Flacco
RB: Darren Sproles, LeGarrette Blount, Roy Helu
WR: Mike Wallace, Steve Smith
TE: Heath Miller

I have a lot of people from Baltimore... I really hope their run game suffers and Flacco has to chuck it a lot.

Whole draft:

Not bad. Torrey Smith going to have a big year. Plus you ha some of the usual suspects that put up monster numbers.

Yeah I went for ole team reliable, only real 'risk' is Zac Stacy and hoping he wasn't a one year fluke

So I am in a non-PPR league with one keeper. As you can see I kept Rice last year and that did NOT work out so well. Who do you think I should keep now? So I play it safe and take Calvin Johnson round 2 or do I go deep with Monte Ball or Jordy Nelson for more "value"?

Oof....tough one. Gotta be between Nelson and Megatron. I'd probably play it safe and go Johnson, then kick myself in the ass when he ends up only doing 10% more than Nelson at double the cost(guessing Nelson will be 4ish?).

Ugh so I keep doing my mock drafts getting ready for my .5 ppr league. At 7th I typically have Calvin and Jimmy Graham falling to me but once in a while lacy is there as well. Right now I have them ranked lacy, Calvin and Graham. I even consider taking Demarious Thomas over jimmy Graham if it's just them 2. Now I'm starting to think I'm pushing jimmy Graham too far down the line.

He's gotta be the most polarizing guy there is. He puts up top 8ish RB points(more like top 5 in PPR) at a position that's usually an afterthought just ahead of kickers. I think if he was more reliably 100% healthy you'd see some debate for taking him top 3 in PPR leagues. But he's had some nagging injuries slow him down over the last two seasons. Yes, 1200yds and 16td's as a TE last year was with him gimpy for half the season.

It's like the one QB strategy, either pick one really early or really late. Someone will reach for Jimmy Graham, chances are it will work out OK for them.

yea, his numbers were incredible. I want someone to jump on him early so I don't have to decide. I'm expecting someone to at least jump on Peyton prior. If Lacy is there, I think I want him. Chances are a top 5 WR will there on the way back.

Something just keeps telling me to stay away from Graham. Ive won a lot of leagues by going with my gut on picks. If he's there for some crazy reason in the second, I'll make the plunge.

Yeah Graham is a premium player at a position that doesn't really have much after him. In your example you can't just compare Graham with Megatron. You have to compare Graham and whatever receiver you get later and Megatron with whatever TE you get later. Even if Johnson outscores Graham, there's a lot of receivers within 5 ppg of Megatron where there really isn't any for Graham unless Gronk stays healthy for once.

True.. I've been targeting Julius Thomas. I think he'll close the gap on Graham this year. I'll have to just decide when it happens. I draft wed so I'll have to let you guys know. My last draft I took Megatron but I had to make the first few picks over the phone. I can't remember if Graham was even there.

You might be able to get good value in Gronk. I mean, you can't count on him to be healthy but for the times he does play he'll be a huge advantage over your opponents TE. After Graham, Gronk and Thomas they are all pretty much replacement level anyways so you won't lose much (relative to your opponents TE) by having to go to waivers to replace an injured Gronk.

Also, draft strategy that worked well for me last year, I am not drafting a backup QB or a backup TE and am instead stocking up on high upside WR/RB's. When bye weeks roll around there are still plenty of serviceable QB's and TE's on waivers and you have a better chance at finding that late round gem if you stock up.

That's not a bad way to do things assuming a normalish sized bench. Have been in some leagues with really deep benches and waiver wires are shit in those leagues though lots of trades tend to happen.

I did that something like that last year but I also drafted Julius Thomas knowing he was going to be a steal. I'd like to have 2 WRs and RBs before I draft anything else but it all depends on how the draft goes

Picking 5th this year. Torn between taking a top RB or Peyton. Guess will have to see who gets taken before, but im leaning towards Peyton since I got burned by Doug Martin last year.
