Plugins on PC fix a lot of the complexity issues. Not that I WOULD EVER USE SUCH A THING /cough. But I'm a casualandy and dont do high end raiding.Part of the issue also is they also listen a lot to the Japanese playerbase, who have their own quirk and which can have knock-on effects. One common complaint in Japan was rotation complexity, mostly because it is a pain in the ass on a controller since consoles are probably the biggest playerbase there. I think that was one reason why a lot of classes seemed to get dumbed down
Speaking of dumb, one annoying thing from that interview is the interviewer mentioned the puzzles they had in the 7.3 MSQ and how those seemed well received. But then YoshiP mentioned that hardcore raiders cried that they couldn't skip the puzzles. I liked the puzzles, it made the MSQ a bit more interactive rather than talk to this, go here, etc. Just add a "raider streamer mode" where the puzzles get auto-solved since most of those streamers seem to have room temperature IQ for anything beyond "simon says" in a raid fight
the creeping assness was present (but less so) in shadowbringers with the damn they them pixies. so i could see that.
i blame the localization with a lot of my annoyance just because of the strange statements some characters made in the story that seemed independent of the story, and were uniformly retarded. maybe japan also had rubber bullets, secret lizard men pretending to be stupid. the king making a new language out of thin air and many of the other really really dumb things that are mentioned here and there.... but a lot of it felt really tacked on.

Finally. Someone that I agree with. There were some good parts but this turned into taking the one ring to mount doom by the time Endwalker finished. Will never go back to the game. It was a chore to get through Endwalker and even if a new 10/10 xpac drops, dont think I can finish Dawntrail from what I heard. Figure its better to give my char away than have it dead forever.
DM me if anyone is interested. Have a few paid outfits and the cloud bike.![]()
Kate Cynwar is directly quoted as saying the pixies were her creation and she was proud of getting the 'they/them' aspect in there. She is more than just a 'localizer'. She was part of the writing team, though not the head or lead. She did side quests and other stuff and was taking on more and more responsiblity. She apparently was more prominent in the Dawntrail bit cause of its 'South America' flavor and I believe was responsible for the English voice cast for DT, to include the infamous casting of Wuk Lamat.the creeping assness was present (but less so) in shadowbringers with the damn they them pixies. so i could see that.
