1998 Godzilla for life. It was goofy, campy, and just plain fun to watch - it even kick started a cartoon series that wasn't horrible.

no we arent. American godzilla was a horrible action movie. It was boring. So fucking boring. Action movie have 2 goals: entertain and show you amazing action scenes. This movie failed in both of them. HARD. Add to that the characters were annoying, the humor was unfunny and the creature was ugly and uninspired and you have a big example of action movie that completely fail at what is suppose to do

only then, if you need, you could take into consideration that this was supposed to be a godzilla movie, which failed so hard the skeleton of the original godzilla is spinning at the botton of the pacific ocean

it was a offence to the souce material so huge that World War Z can be considered a perfect book---->movie transposition

Would be interesting to see how this turns out, what % of the original cast/staff is returning?

Godzilla doesn't need to be rated R though, the best Godzilla stuff is monster vs. monster. The only giant monster movie I will ever really care if its rated R is Mountains of Madness, but that's a whole different deal.

Most people hate the American godzilla simply because the French save the day.

From what I've read the only Toho monster in the film is Godzilla.

For whatever reason Tohoused to bevery restrictive on their licenses and even when they have money wafted in their faces they hold back. Look at the Dark Horse comic line, they weren't allowed any of the other Toho monster line and had to come up with "Lord Howe Monster" etc >.<

Edit: VVVV Yeah that one did sound like Rodan. It took 15 months or so for last years Comic-con teaser to leak so gawd knows when/if we get to see that footage and can see if it's Rodan or something similar.
