Since there is this little item called "Wildfire" created by the alchemist guild, I would say plenty of others use fire as a weapon in this realm.
But I thought that it was ultra rare, hard to make and expensive- and only recently was able to be made (comet, dragon return - more magic etc.)

I guess they'll just have to stick to their swords and arrows like everyone outside of Dany's circle has done throughout the entirety of the show.

fuck realistic, im not even touching how the oil traveled up stairs or why the dothaki didnt just jump out those slatted windows. the author has made it very clear that dany is not fireproof and now she is when no targ has ever been. its like saying that because a duck can swim then he must also be able to swim to the deepest depths of the ocean as well. it may be a small issue to some, but its a fundamental shift in her character
So basically your problem with her character is that she's a woman and was supposed to be feeble and easy to defeat, but now that she's a badass, it's lame. Let me guess, you're going to vote for Trump.

I know the Mad King stashed Wildfire but didn't Tyrion have the alchemist guild make all his Wildfire?

Not sure on the shelf life of Wildfire, either

lol? the author said she aint fire proof, she isnt fire proof in the books so its needlessly suping her up on the TV show. targaryans arent superheroes. they are just regular people but with dragons. the dragons conquered westeros for the targs. the focus should be on that aspect, but if you want to go with the ghostbusters argument then by all means dont let me or anything resembling facts stop you.

Who gives a fuck what the author said? We're not talking about the books. There's nothing needless about it, they're working within time and budget constraints.

You seem to not understand that people in this thread cannot physically divorce themselves from the source and the adaptation. I can't imagine what they're like watching a "Based upon a true story" movie if they know much about the original story.

besides dany, how many targaryans on the TV show were fire proof?
maybe if the reveal is R+L=D then at least there is some kind of precedent for a different outcome. targs were like any noble family, cursed with inbreeding.

What GRRM said sounds a lot like "Well, the fans noticed that I made a mistake so here's some backpedaling bullshit about a miracle". The TV writers, who are less concerned with the ego of GRRM than he is himself, just chose to correct the error and move forward and whatever GRRM said in some interview or whatever isn't particularly relevant since we're clearly talking about the TV show and not the books. We haven't seen any evidence on the show that anyone but Danerys is immune to fire, the idea that all targaryans are is strictly a fan assumption.

Show me exactly which book and what page Martin said Dany was flame retardant, but not fireproof. That's what I thought.

One thing I've been wondering if I've missed... has the show shown the comet since the first season? (it was there, right? or am I creating a scene from the books in my mind).

I thought the comet had some sort of significance to the magic levels, and they've been steadily increasing but I haven't noticed it.

If you didn't like the ending of the last episode, fuck you. Just stop watching the show already. People are really complaining about the fire? Did it ever occur to you that maybe the torches are lit with lamp oil, which absolutely would spread that quickly if tipped over? Complaining about how she'd die from lack of oxygen? Are you fucking serious? It's a television show, with fucking dragons and zombies and people coming back to life, and you're complaining about the show not being realistic because she would die of asphyxiation? The doors were barred shut by Jorah and Daario. I wish the idiots who complain about every single fucking thing in this show would perish in a fire.
hmm I assumed (without any evidence) that Jorah, and Daario doused the place with oil (or something flammable) ahead of time. The place went up so fast.
But I agree that was the best episode so far this season by far as a lot of the storylines finally took a step forward.

I kind of doubt that Jorah and Daario put something flammable on the floor before the meeting because I doubt they'd be able to sneak in there, and it's unlikely that a substance all over the floor would go unnoticed. I think that the lamps were probably using some type of oil which can easily spread like that when tipped over. My parents had a kerosene heater in our house when I was a kid. My brother and I knocked it over and I can tell you from first hand experience how fast fire moves when that shit is spilled. Our house lit up like a Christmas tree in just a few minutes.

It was probably the girl that did it, the one that Daario didn't kill, otherwise, why would they randomly put some ex-kalissi in there.

I figured Dany's family lineage might have been part descendant from a dragon/human mix way down the line. Not all would get dragon traits as generations continue and would help explain the mad king a little better. Hoping more in the likes of DnD, world where dragons used magic, morphed into human forms. If she starts developing other odd things like some scales or breathing fire, that might have some truth to it.

Oh and her brother wasnt very much not fire proof or resistant, but he got that new shine gold crown hot off the presses!

This argument is confusing. For those who have read the books or watched the first eason of the show
she is obviously shown to be fireproof in the first book. Her clothes and hair burn off but she is otherwise untouched.
Not sure how comments made by the author offline have any bearing on this. Who are you gonna believe, GRRM or your lying eyes? She's obviously fireproof.

The only point worth arguing is
inconsistencies in how they handled her hair -- it burned off in the Droga pyre but seemed untouched in the last episode
But that would be splitting hairs

On the show she didn't lose her hair in the pyre fire. That was book only, it's consistent in the show.

However, in the book, she is def not fire-proof. This is during her encounter with Drogon in the fighting pit:

If I run from him, he will burn me and devour me...

Drogon roared full in her face, his breath hot enough to blister skin.
And after:
Her skin was pink and tender, and a pale milky fluid was leaking from her cracked palms, but her burns were healing.
