Seems to me it makes the most sense it was the queen of thorns who did the deed. Sansa told them that Joff is a vile person and their overall impression was "Well that sucks but alright." Which I'm taking as "Well if we can't have a happy marriage we'll kill the fucker." 9/10 in fiction a death by poison is from a female's hand so it fits in with that. Queen of Thorns seems to be the only female in the entire city both smart and capable enough to pull it off. All the other females can't stop themselves from fucking up all the time. It may also account for why she was so salty about having to pay so much cash for the wedding since she knew it was just a charade and excuse to kill the king.

I still think Joff was a great character. But I think his act would have just worn on had he not been killed off. He wasn't deep enough as a character to keep around.

Yeah but don't forget Dany wore a dress with one tit exposed for I don't even know how long and that part never came to light in the show. Didn't Lena Headey get a body double for her naked ass once?
You're talking about season one. She had an ass double because she was pregnant. You'll notice most of the shots of her are from the chest-up in that season.

It seems to me that the Tyrell's are a bit too subtle/smart to go about it this way. I don't know anything about Westeros law, so I have no idea what the Tyrell's/Margaery's power status is after wed to king/king is dead same day. But, it would be rather stupid for them to kill him like it went down, since Marg could easily be implicated. She had access to cup and pie, and no one had any idea that Jeoff would set Tyrion up accidentally as the perfect patsy.

Also, while I believe that poison is typically a "woman's weapon of choice" IRL as well, it's also an obvious weapon of choice for assassins, so not really much to go on there.

At no time do we see anyone actually put poison in the cup, so it could be a bunch of people. Dantos knew something was going to happen though, as he gets Sansa away from there. That's all I can figure from watching the episode.

Re Watch it, pay close attention to old Lady Tyrell's hands when she talks with Sansa, its not that subtle and very clear when you see it.

When Joff gave his last twitch, my mother yelled "YAY!" and gave a little clap. Then started giggling.
Thought she was going to get physically ill at the Red Wedding. Angry for weeks, still a bit mad. Can't wait for the appearance of Ms. Dead Caitlin.
Me mum's 81 yrs old. She rocks.

Fuck up her face enough and anyone could play her. Not like they really need her voice either.

They are just doing typical Ramsay Bolton stuff thats in the books. Its mentioned in ADWD, IIRC by Theon that Ramsay likes to lets girls go in the woods then hunt them down, rape them, then flay them.

So Ramsay took one to hunt with him and the other to be the hunted? This doesn't seem to answer the question unless that's the case.
He literally says that dead girl made hunting girl jealous.

Also he names his dogs after the good hunts because the dogs eat their souls or some psychobabble bullshit.

I'm surprised Theon and Ramsay get so much screentime. I think only book readers like those scenes, everyone else is wondering wtf is this goreporn.

Someone on Reddit showed the series of events with screencaps, made it look like a Kansas city shuffle. Dontos gave Sansa the necklace, Sansa wore it to the wedding, Olenna Tyrell touched the necklace and broke off a piece, the changing of cups/dosing it (couldnt see clearly), and then Joffrey dying. so no one person was the sole murderwe. it implicates Dontas, Sansa, Olenna, and Tyrion.

The "pie" was a symbolic thing. the dead bird was from him thrusting the sword through it. A brief joke about the valyrian steel

With Joff dead, they're setting up the Boltons as the new big bad family as the Lannisters begin to fade (and boy do they ever fade over the next season or two). The books actually do the same thing, but it is less noticeable because of all the page count devoted to Mereen.
