Looks like they also have a chicken restaurant? WTF is hot chicken? Not sure if that's supposed to be similar to the style of spicy fried chicken in the States, or what.

EDIT: NM, they answer that on the actual homepage. Nashville style is what they say.

I was in Nashville for business somewhere recently and went to this somewhat upscale establishment and ordered hot chicken. Wasn't expecting it to be super spicy because that's usually reserved for the hole in the wall type places. Not this. This shit was HOT. I was crying the whole time but it was so damn good. Would definitely go again if I'm back in the area.

i always get roped in to making the "asian" stuff.

3 cups of rice will make 4 rolls, this is the 1st of two containers i'm taking, the theme is "finger food"

The top 3 are kinda janky, cuz i wanted to see how using the nori scraps would do. (it did not do well).

there's obviously no seafood out here, so i just did basic california rolls

This is the first time for me making sushi rolls in probably 10+ years,

1. the sushi bazooka made em come out real nice, 100% better than bamboo rolling
2. rice cooker, ha.

Everyone was weirded out using their hands to eat sushi, i said thats why i made regular rolls w/ the nori on the outside, so it's easy to pickup w/o having rice sticking to your fingers.

someone asked, then why are california rolls inside out, i said cuz you white ppl were scared of the big black sheet of nori.

Next project will be trying to make risotto in the zojirushi.

Weird, I always liked nori.

Just can't handle raw fish.
yea thats why i made california rolls, it's like a blowjob, not quite sex, but good enough for the normies. made one roll that was just cucumber and avocado and another with cream cheese instead of the crab meat.

I think they turned out pretty good for a first try. Not the prettiest but damn tasty. Might have steamed them a touch too long but still good. Made a couple West Virginia style with pepperoni, also delicious. Thanks for the tips bro.

thats nice, was the cheese cloth good enough peel off? try parchment or lay em on a bed of lettuce if that didn't work out too well.

i can see you really tried to get the "fish lips" ha

I gave it a shot on each one. Most of them I just ended up smashing together but a couple turned out alright. A couple of them stuck to the cloth a little bit, parchment probably would have been better but those came with the steamer so I figured I'd use them.

I've been experimenting again. I bought a bunch of fajita beef for its ridiculous sale here at HEB a few weeks ago. Like $1.5/LB. It has a decent marinade and I sliced it super thin now mix it in some easy stir fries with Szechuan Chili Oil, Bok Choy and Kimchi.

Mega delicious.

I bought a fermentation jar the other day. Gonna try making some kimchi, sauerkraut, hot pepper sauce, and ginger beer

I made some homemade sour kraut a few times. My wifes old man gave me a ceramic crock pot specifically made for that. It came out really, really good.
