Brisket was 1.97 a pound last I went and I almost went in on that. Probably should have, but I have so much fucking Prime Rib in the freezer. Love prime rib and it cooks up great straight from frozen.

Publix in Florida always seems to have plenty of Chicken, but we always struggle with beef. The other day I couldn't even find any ground beef except for lean. No 80/20 at all. And the steaks are limited and over priced as well, and like Khane said, good like finding USDA prime.

I still need to trim the dry age brisket. Here is that Chuck roast. I cubed it for stew. There is enough for three, very hearty stews. The last pic is half of the pellicle and half of the cubed inner goodness.

Not my greatest, but everything was still tasty. Haven't cooked ribs in a while and I left them on a little too long. Chicken was delicious. The wife made a blue cheese potato salad, and a nice vinegar forward slaw with daikon and radish to cut through the richness of the barbecue.

Definitely not the most photogenic meal, but at least I don't have to cook for the next few days, and the neighbors seemed to enjoy it.

You'd be lucky to even find wings in stock at any of my local grocers. Fresh or frozen. They just dont exist anymore apparently.

Also, about cheap "choice" steaks. I've stopped buying beef entirely. The last few times I bought on sale (7.99/lb porterhouse for instance) the steaks were fucking terrible. Barely edible. Like they came from dollar general. Even though they were labeled USDA choice. USDA Prime doesnt exist outside of high end restaurants anymore as far as I can tell. Never see it for sale anywhere these days

Inflation is bad enough but the quality has nosedived as well. I'm going to re-up my Costco membership just so I can get decent meat.
Costco meat isn’t that cheap anymore either.

Not sure if this is the right thread or not, but couldn't find anything better. My Mother has had this cooking dish for 60 years or so. It's seen it's share of use as can be seen. Now, I've washed and scrubbed it with regular dishwashing liquid but I can't get it any cleaner. My Mother would like to throw it away but I've always liked it. Anyone know if there is a way to clean it up. Doesn't have to be spotless, just cleaner than it is.

It looks like one of those old pre Pyrex style dishes. I don't know what material it is, but my grandmother used to have a bunch. They just get a patina like anything else. I don't know I'd leave all the stuff cuz it gives it character. Gives you an idea of how many wonderful meals were cooked in it.

Try this

Corningware! I think that's exactly what it is. I just couldn't remember what the hell it was called. You only see it in a grandmother's pantry or at a garage sale nowadays.

Heat it up to between 160-200 in the oven then spray it with some Easy Off, let it set in the oven for 15 - 30 minutes or so, then scrub and rinse it really well.
