What we do not agree on, is the involvement of the media and what I think is your failure to understand how modern media works. Instead of blaming information, perhaps it would be better to advocate for strengthened education system.

I don't know about the teachers, but for sure the principal. We allowed pilots to carry guns and added a lot of Air Marshals and how many terrorist attacks have we had since 9/11? None. Terrorists and madmen hit soft targets. Gun control just makes more soft targets. You and the rest of the anti-gun nuts are all fucking insane - you want more 'gun free zones' which means more dead kids and adults.

I love how the NYT now has an op-ed how mental illness is not the problem. Mental illness is the problem its impossible to get sick relatives committed unless they actively threaten someone and even if it were easier we now have less beds per capita in our mental health facilitiese than any time since the 19th Century. Mental Health is one spending area the Dems seem to have no problem cutting.
Yeah, that's all society needs. More poorly trained, low paid security guards with guns ready to shoot anyone to impress his buddies or the local bar whores.

Harvard medical school disagrees with you about video games. There have been no links between violent video games and increased violence. In fact, as this type of media has grown, there has been a correlative (Again, not scientific) drop in violence. So, even speaking from a bullshit perspective, you just don't have a case.
Again, school shootings have been happening since the 1800's. The difference is the body count, it started to consistently rise around the mid 80's. This is just about the time that 24/7 cable news networks began broadcasting and cable was fully being saturated into most homes. Take that how you will, it's another correlation and not causation, but it's compelling to think about.
I don't support arming principals, but if they ever did decide to go that way I would hope proper training goes along with it. I don't think anyone wants them to just hand the principal a handgun and say "Go get em!". I think we are so far off from that being something to even consider though. These shootings are tragic, but lets not pretend like massacres like this are a daily event. You don't arm the nations principals because psychos have shot up a few schools over the years.
How many fucking principals honestly want to be given a gun and told "right, anyone comes in firing you gotta get out there an turn dirty Harry"?
Principals are teachers, I would imagine they gave guns to pilots that had actual military service as a lot of commercial airline pilots do.

We have a culture of violence/guns/no family structure/mental illness/media glorification/social dysfunction all heaped on top of each other creating a perfect storm of crap causing events like this to happen.
