Half-priced sequel game getting high marks that then gets review bombed, sounds like it is as good as the first one. Modding looks a little weird but some are simple drag and drop lua file replacements.
It's a simple 2d game with kinda shit tier cartoonish graphics. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea to begin with. It's certainly not going to garner elden ring or bg3 levels of hype.
It's certainly not genre defining or breaking or whatever. It's very meh.
Been a while since I played EA. I got chronos with Axe and Aphrodites spin boon.
What's a good weapon to try besides Axe?
For the pure base weapons, I find daggers and staff the easiest to build up. For daggers, backstab and dash upbrades. Staff works best with the omega attack with the line which does very good damage and is fairly easy to build. The cloak weapon I just can't get the first aspect to even get past the first few guardians. Base damage is just so low and the attack (rapid hits) just feels like a 1/3rd damage dagger. I know one of the skull aspects can make some very high damage builds using the special. It might be the normal one, I've never gotten it though. Some of the builds kind of need you to know what boons to get and build around that using the different trinkets.
For upgrades that I've tried. Wands, I just did my first run with those and easily killed Chronos. Parry daggers are very good if you get the timing down.
Maybe I’m desensitized but I haven’t noticed bad voice acting. The dialogue can be strained at times because they’re all in on revealing the plot in cohesive chunks - to mixed success. But I personally haven’t found it insufferableI watched a streamer play it and the gameplay looks as good as ever.
But goddamn, the dialogue (and voice acting) is insufferable. All of it. Every single time someone was talking it felt like forced garbage.
He is the chosen one.My friend beat it on his very first run. That seems autistic.
