Getting my first eye injection today and I have to say I think my dick is hibernating somewhere inside my stomach.

At least you'll look like an awesome ghoul with your eye full of blood for a day or two. And supposedly it's pretty painless. Good luck.

Maybe you've already tried this, but as a teenager I would get migraines almost daily. Back then I supplemented with feverfew and it seemed to have an effect on both the severity and frequency.
Thanks, I've never heard of it, but I'll take a look.

If it's painless the rest can be dealt with. You scaring the shit out of your coworkers today?
No it's like a small red spot on my eye. Probably because I was scared shitless to move.

While it was painless it was uncomfortable as fuck. Have to do this 4 more times in as many months too. Either way beats going blind.

Eye feels pretty gnarly now though

I had my rhinoplasty yesterday for a deviated septum/crooked nose. It was covered under insurance.

I’ve had some minor surgeries in the past (wisdom teeth, surgery on my tongue), but never been under general anesthesia and intubated.

Oh man, the throat from a breathing tube is so brutal. I had no idea. Off work for a few days. On pain meds. But it’s a pretty rough procedure.

I knew they were straightening my nose out but it’s still weird to see the bridge of my nose straight in the mirror.

general makes me shake really bad (like I'm super cold) but I'm not cold. They have to give me a shot of something that I cannot recall the name of to stop it. We are not designed to sleep that soundly.

I don’t recall this but apparently I woke up swinging at the technicians lol

I’m 6’ and 190, so not exactly a string bean. I feel bad for them but it’s a natural reaction.

General anesthesia is not sleep.

I got propofol(sp?) for an endoscopy ~20 years ago. Woke up feeling amazing.

It's the propofol induced dopamin release that makes you feel good. Or possibly all the rectal action you got. Are you gay, mebbe?

I passed out once after donating blood (fucking pussy) and I guess I was out for a minute or so. I swear to god, I’ve never felt more refreshed in my life then when I came back after that. I’d pay money to make that happen on a nightly basis.

Just find someone with a choking fetish and the self control to know what part of the throat to hold for it. ;)

Thanks to having the tumors I've had ablated this year I've been put under general anesthesia more this year than the rest of my life combined. For me it's that I'd have a painfully scratchy/irritated throat for probably 2 weeks solid after each time.

Dude the intubation throat soreness was ROUGH the first two days.
It’s day three now. Still on PTO and pain meds. Lots of buffy the vampire slayer and ice cream. Throat feels a lot better. Nose is still pretty fucked up but not bleeding nonstop anymore.

that sucks about the tumors, my dude. I hope you’re on the up and up.

I had to have a septum reconstruction done around 15 years ago (a lifetime of scar tissue from sinus infections). I remember it because I had to wear what looked like a tampon under my nose for a week due to the bleeding. But it did wonders for my breathing, and apparently made my snoring MUCH louder oddly enough.

Did they have to put the bass lure sized plugs in? I didn't know they had until they numbed me up at the follow up and pulled them out.

Yep currently wearing the nose tampon. Makes me feel a bit like Paul Atreides from Dune.

You’re describing “packing.” And yeah I woke up with packing and it was very uncomfortable. They took the packing out before sending me home, thankfully.

I’ve got two major black eyes from it and apparently my breath is rancid from the antibiotics, says my wife. Despite frequently brushing my teeth (and tongue).

When I was a kid 11-12 I jumped off our front porch onto a nail. Got it WAY up in there. They cleaned the hole and packed it full of gauze. I had to keep it in there for a few days. Real fun when they pulled it out.
