I actually had never heard of Steppenwolf before the DCEU, he must be the only bad guy from Apokolips to never get featured in the DCAU or the various animated movies. But I'd say he's equivalent to Thanos' black order.

But...but...but they had AQUAMAN! Easily one of the dumbest heroes in comics, so why not have a bad guy no one has ever heard about. His only motivator was becoming a god. He gave no reason why he wanted to become a god, just to become one. Cut that idea in half and it is as ominous as going to Taco Bell because you are hungry. At least Thanos wanted to save the universe.

The best thing they can do with DC movies right now is drag the whole mess behind the shed and drown it in a bucket.

He's equal to one of Thanos' four minions, but not the cool magic one.

Let's compare to The Avengers villians...

1) Loki, who everyone knows from mythology and is also the bad guy of Thor 1 so has been introduced already.

2) Ultron who people have probably not really heard of but is an iconic Avengers villian in the comics and is a cool concept people know (Upgrading AI gone mad).

3) Thanos who has been hinted at in numerous other movies, specifically Guardians of the Galaxy and massivley built up.

So they went with generic CGI humanoid with no build, amazing.

yeah. superman and JL:unlimited focused on Kalibak. And some granny goodness.

Desaad, Stepphenwolf, and Granny goodness are much bigger characters in the comics.


Power level etc. Stepphenwolf is basically Thor. could stomp the JL, except for Superman.

I had heard of steppenwolf, They had a few really great songs late 60s early 70s

the hype is real. Can’t wait to see this.

my expectations for this are that at least its funny bad, as in we can all have a good chuckle about how unbelievably shitty it is. worst case scenario, its fucking terribad and i wont even be able to last 1 hour out of the 4 and nope out of the DCEU for the rest of my life.

I'm watching cuz it's something new to watch. If I could have less than no expectations, that would be where I am going into it. It can't be worse than say Suicide Squad.

I hope it's good enough to get DC on the right track. Marvel(Disney) needs competition. the reason we're all watching WandaVision is because there's nothing else to watch right now.

it's free on HBO Max, most of us will have no reason not to give it a shot.

i mean yes kindof, "Wonder Woman does the 80s" really should be the final nail in the coffin, but i still am curious what live action Flashpoint will look like with Thomas Wayne as an older and much meaner Batman. if this 4 hour film doesnt kill the franchise for me. i will be checking that out for sure.

Nah that's a good laugh. Honest take -- This will still be bullshit DCEU however it'll be some good smellin' shit you know eh. I think it'll be good enough to carry us into the next DCEU films because the current JL film does not. Its like a malnourished shit patty vs a nice healthy log.
