Pre order tickets went up, at least for AMC theaters
If you have moviepass you CAN buy pre orders at the kiosk, just check in for an expensive (7pm+) movie today and buy the future tickets at the kiosk. At AMC you can use a credit card to cover the money moviepass won't, or use multiple MP cards. At regal/cinemark the kiosk will only let you buy tickets if the debit card covers the full amount.

They never seemed to put more than a minimal effort into hiding him to begin with. There wasn't much point after Cavill tweeted out the pic of the black suit. They haven't heavily promoted his return but haven't really been keeping it under wraps either.

The Death of Superman is one of the iconic storylines from his comics. We frequently criticize DC for not following Marvel's established template for success closely enough because it so plainly works. Taking those sorts of stories and twisting them together for the on-screen adaptions is one of the things that Marvel does. Though you can make a good case that they should have held off on it until he was better established in the cinematic universe so it would have had more emotional impact.
