Thanks to the reviews on this before it came out. I had no intention of going to see this movie when I originally saw the trailer, but the reviews here from screeners gave me a different impression. The wife and I went to see it this weekend and man, what a fun movie this was. I'd say it's the most fun I've had watching a movie since GotG. We both loved it. I'm not a huge fan of action movies because I can never get passed the shaky cam fighting or way too over the top action scenes, but the action in this movie was perfectly executed imo. I would've paid to watch 2 hours of the church scene. The blade chick was a bad ass villian and I felt Sam's Jackson's character was a good "bad guy". I loved the idea of an "evil superpower" who was actually not that bad of a guy and hated seeing blood. A+ would highly recommend.

Movie was fucking awesome some of the best actions scenes ive seen. Im not sure its Vaughns Best film over stardust but I enjoyed it more than Kickass, X-men, and Layer Cake. I wonder what something like Punisher or deadpool could be with him behind the camera.

As for the main actor he was fantastic and should start popping up in a lot more stuff and who knew how much of a badass Firth could be!!! The church scene is up there with Matrix Lobby scene. As far as the firework shit, I thought it was done great, actually made me laugh

i give it a 9.5 just for the anal sex pissing off all the feminist, sountrack being amazing, Church scene, erm how about every action scene being fantastic and there being tons of them throughout the film

I knew The Firth gets shot in the eye and dies which really sucks, but didnt Mark Strongs character betray them in the comic?

Director Said Firth could be back in the sequel or hes thinking of ideas, as for a sequel, the movie did better than expected and there is no good movies coming out soon and word of mouth is really good. So John Wick and This will have sequels.

I do think Vaughn really improved Millars work and the same goes for Kickass, having a fight at a wedding instead of church could have looked better but this was awesome

For those that care about differences from the comic
Comic they are just MI6, not Kingman the private secret agency
There is no church scene, instead people go crazy at a wedding and Firth isnt there
Gazelle is a dude/ex kingsman
Firth is his uncle that bails Eggsy out of jail, so eggsy's dad never saved him
Sam Jackson is jealous boyfriend and has Gazelle kill the guys his girlfriend talks to
Eggsy is much more of a bitch so instead of him passing tests, he actually gets upset that the other trainee's talk bad about him so he storms off and gets kicked out, so instead the film has the trainees get drugged and put on railroad tracks and eggsy fails for not killing the dog, actually there isnt much spy training in the comics

Church scene it all its glory
Church scene - vidme

Edit - thats not even the whole fight, forgot how long the scene really was, missing about 25 seconds of dome busting in the beginning

That scene was damn close to shocking. I can see why this movie is getting good reviews. Appears to be inline with Dredd as far as the grittiness and hardcore portrayal of the story.

How would you do that exactly? It sucks losing him.
Could be that the glasses are high strength lenses of some kind, slowed the bullet causing a non fatal injury. But now he would we wearing an eyepatch and no longer in the field. He'd be the new Arthur.

Comic was a little more obvious, I think the movie wanted the option to be out there so it wasnt as brutal

Edit - Apparently the photo was a spoiler and not the comments above

Just put the picture under the spoiler tag with [ & ] around it. No problem. Just remember to /spoiler at the end.

Yeah I didnt understand how the pic was a spoiler and not the posts above =/ . Anyways the movie beat Bond/Bourne in asia for a new record and did great in russia. The actor Eggsy I guess is being eyed for the new Star Wars which is good news I guess

Saw it today, it was awesome as everyone else has said. Anyone else feel like the Princess offering up the buttseks was really forced and just made the ending weird? Both my buddy and I thought so, but a pretty minor gripe in a movie full of awesome.

Movie was a homage to old bond, but instead of bond insisting after saving the world, the girl insisted. Didnt find it odd at all and it pissed off all the feminist which is awesome

Absolutely not. In fact, I like to think of the movie as the most complex and well made porn setup ever. I can't wait for the unrated version where we actually get to see the sex scene.

avengers and star wars have some big shoes to fill for me in 2015. This movie is up there with GoTG as far as pure fun and entertainment

Saw this with the wife, we both thought it was awesome. I really want to see it again to see what I missed. I also appreciated the fact that they didn't try to wedge in a boy/girl love story just for the sake of having one. That ruins so many good movies.

Saw it a second time and it was still great. 8/10 (consensus of wife and best friend)
Good pacing.
Just enough of everything.
Constantly went up to the line and then backed off before getting too much.
I actually liked that it was PG-13 (especially after watching that 'Tube video about PG-13 that somebody posted here)
I really liked the use of music and cheesy sound effects; I may be mistaken but I think the cheese didn't start coming until spy movies where mentioned - which is neat if true.
Was McDonalds a Pulp Fiction reference? This guy is supposed to be donating $$ and you give him that garbage? I think it was a joke intended to lighten the mood in the viewing audience to then immediately counter balance with the heaviness of the next few lines, but from an in-world view wtf? Overthinking: Is it a display that they know he is a hoax so they're not going to waste good food on him?
I liked how there was only a pseudo-love interest instead of an outright forced one, balanced by the end

NitPicks that have no real effect
1 Recruits
Where the recruits first meet, there are two dudes in the background that never get any speaking roles. One is eventually revealed as Hugo in the drop scene. But the 2nd just kinda vanishes. This could have been addressed by Merlin saying "I'm impressed, most of you past your test (the scene before the jump)"
2 Sister
During doomsday, his sister should have been freaking out in the stroller too, trying to escape and get out and bang right back against the door
3 Old man
Arthur was weak-wristed when holding the gun, which made him not all feel like an experienced killer. (Senator Palpatine with lightsaber effect)

i thought the director was just making fun of product placement. I really hope Vaughn does the sequel and not leave like he did for Kickass 2
