AI tells me 400K units in 30 days and 3 million reported AUG 2025. Gross revenue $90 million. And thats 1.5 yrs.

Kickstarter was in 2018 and raised $250K

BTW their kickstarter said the game would be $15 one time purchase with cosmetics funding future. So their real box price was 2x from what they said in their kickstarter.

It seems pretty obvious to me. They set out to just make a game and they actually did, they did far more than most Kickstarted games.

But it was so successful they made "holy shit i can retire" money and so they decided to retire while pretending they just didn't make enough money even though they made an absolute killing. All so they could not have to work anymore, which ya know, I cant say I wouldn't do. But lets call a spade a spade.

I think the very simple truth here is most of us would probably have made the same decision the Last Epoch team did if presented with the same opportunity. It's hard to fault anyone for choosing financial security when success shows up faster than expected.

The issue isn't even that expansions or new classes cost money. The issue is that certain expectations were set early on. Expectations the studio is now walking back. When that happens, it's reasonable for consumers to be frustrated. But that isn't entitlement, that's just how trust works in a marketplace where we constantly tell people to "vote with their wallets."

What's strange is the way some in the gaming community react to that frustration. There's this sentiment floating around that if you paid $20-$50 for a game and got a solid chunk of entertainment out of it, you've surrendered your right to ever voice concerns again. Suddenly, having any expectations beyond the purchase price makes you some sort of overgrown child demanding freebies.

I truly don't understand how we went from "vote with your wallet" to "shut up and lick the boots, you already got your value." But here we are. Apparently in the timeline where expecting a company to honor its own commitments is now entitlement.

I think everyone frustrated by it should absolutely vote with their wallets and not buy it.

Bottom line is if the game is good, people will play and pay for it. No one will give a shit about expectations or whatever they promised and walked back... They will buy it and play it, f it sucks they wont. Its really pretty simple. Right now the game, at least to me, is pretty mid.

Patch Notes are up. Quite a lot of changes.

Kind of sad they themselves call this "Hype Week" and there is essentially no hype at all.

So I wasn't wrong when I thought one of the 2 "new" rogue skills when they teased them looked exactly like the bladestorm node for shadow dagger, because it's literally what it is, they made a skill out of the upgrade. And other skill is basically just Sentinel echo but for Rogues.

Their balance team still seems to be composed of like a single guy working part time though. While there's a lot of changes, some of these look pretty dumb(Blade Dancer sync strike buffs are like quite insane even though the build was already reasonable) and a bunch of shitty classes ignored again(druid/forge I think mostly). For how long they take between patches, this seems pretty meh.

It is a lot of changes.

S3 was also 6 months ago.

It is not creating much excitement or buzz at all because... well its mostly phoned in even after 6 months.
