League of legends main tournament always disappoints as a casual watcher. Its just too damn bad there is not more international competition.

New league champion, tee-heehehhee! XD omg so random. Ri0t is so innovative.

I'm sure this champion won't be used as a way for countless weebs to justify their pedo desires with the amount of porn that will pop up. LeBlanc and Zed mains will probably have a field day on her though with that mobility.

She's sort of like Rubrik, but only for summoner's and item actives: those bubbles on the ground are enemy abilities that spawn when she has her 3-bubble-thingy up looks like, if she walks over them she can activate that bubble ability. So basically you can't flash away from her if she has bubbles going but it can isolate her from her team. Also who knows what her other shit really does. Wormhole thingy looks Leblanc-W-esque, her magic missile thing looks like a more obnoxious Vel'Koz Q.

For Worlds, I think international competition this year was as strong as it's been at Worlds. Teams put up real fights in groups and quarters and even semis and there were legitimately entertaining matches all over the place. Finals is the big disappoint here, which is not new sadly, it's almost always the worst series in Worlds. It still sucked if you were a TSM or G2 fan but that's what you deserve :p

Finals!
spoilering for first 24 hours, since it was at a weird time for most NA people
OH SHIT! The dynasty is over! I will say, I'm just a sucker for the underdog and started rooting for SKT once they were down 2-0. I felt bad for Huni, he'll likely take some of the blame and put it on himself too. He joined a dominant team and then couldn't get it done. Even though it wasn't really his fault, he also didn't carry them either. However, at least there's a crack in the armor of SKT finally, even if it had to be the OTHER most dominant korean org. Every worlds for the last 6? years has been either Samsung or SKT now.

I think this season is the first season I will probably play LOL on a regular basis. The IP refund and keystones are pretty sweet. I gambled all my BE away and on the last one I got Zoe lol.

I like the mystery champ thing, cause there's a fair amount of the 6300+ champs I don't own and I want most of them equally. So, getting a discount on +1 champ is fine with me. I did buy Zoe specifically today, though. I love artillery champs, so her playstyle looked great to me watching Moe (yassuo) play her. I probably won't be great at using her mobility to dodge in/out of fights, my mechanics are my weak spot, but whatever. If I can snipe some bitches out from long distance while CCing a few others, that's good enough. Especially since I mostly just play ARAMs with my limited play time.

The shake up in competitive scene is crazy. It's like everyone is a free agent almost. Will certainly be interesting to see how all the teams shake out. TSM keeping Hauntzer/Bjergsen seems to be making out good compared to many other teams being basically completely reformed. Plus the addition of brand new teams to the league that need to fill all 5 slots.

I need to play some LoL to get my BE bonuses, logged in once but haven't played yet since the changes. I'll have like 70k BE after everything. Was fully unlocked with every rune/rune slot purchased.

I am getting really confused with how the world of League of Legends portrays itself to have with some of these trailers. I guess they arent connected, and each one is a different universe. But that honestly just makes me wish we had more versions of the same type of maps. Howling Fjord could be a Street Alley or something and this is chosen at random. The different play modes they come up with are a crap shoot for me personally, most of the time. I just dont find most of them enjoyable. But then again, the whole game is based around Summoners Rift... So I guess Im just day dreaming.

Lol riot going pay 2 play with the new blue essence shit? Get 50 levels to get enough blue essence to buy a new champ or just pay cash money!

eh.. it's really not like that at all. You get as much blue essence, over time, as you did IP. For most people, you get more, actually.
If you tend to play between 2-6 games a day, you will earn more essence then you did IP. The first win of the day quest gives a ton of essence. Leveling up (which has no limit anymore) sort of gives you a full champion worth of shards. There's a bit of variance involved, of course. Just don't disenchant the shards of ones you don't already own, as each one gives a 1/3rd discount towards buying the champ, basically.
It's only if you are super hardcore and play over 8 games a day that you will earn less essence then you did IP per day.

I haven't gotten a level yet so maybe it's not that bad, i'll get one soon. I don't remember how much essence I got for my quest but i'm guessing it was somewhere around what the IP first win of the day was, 250ish. People on forums were saying you got like 2-4 champ shards so if you had bad luck it could end up being a bunch of 90 essence champs.

Edit: Just got lvl 31, got one champ shard = rakan, worth 1280 blue essence or 3780 to upgrade it so not really anything even remotely resembling a full champions worth, more like 25% of a champions worth if you want to unlock one of the ones you get a shard for or 20% if you get 5 you don't want, assuming you get all 6300ip ones to disenchant. Took 6 games to get the level, if it doesn't go way above that then I guess it's fairly similar to how IP was.

I mis-spoke a bit on a level being a 'full champion' if we are talking 6300+ champs. There's some champs that don't even cost 1280, though. So, it depends on what level of player you are. To a newer player that doesn't own all the cheap ones yet, leveling up IS basically a new champ. For veteran players that own all the cheap ones, they got a shitload of BE up front from having bought all the old runes. I think I had like 25-30k, bought 5 or 6 6300+ champs I didnt own and I've still got 5k left over. Also, the capsules always give between 700 and 1300 BE worth of shards. It might be 4 cheaper ones, or one expensive one. Having one shard takes off 40% of the champion's cost to upgrade it to permanent (buy champ). If you get 3, you just combine them to get that champ for free.

In other words, that Rakan shard is worth like 2500ish BE if you end up buying Rakan specifically. Otherwise, it's worth 1280 towards some other champ.

But, when you combine the First win quest exp, and then the champion shards on level up (which has no cap), it ends up being more BE if you don't play super hardcore. It all depends on how often you are getting the FWOTD. If you play 8+ games in a day, it's definitely slower. If you only play one or two games a day? It's like 2-3x faster now. For the vast majority of players, that means it's faster now.

so.. ESPN is running circles around everyone else on keeping up with the roster changes. The 2017-2018 League of Legends Roster Shuffle

TSM made the Zven/Mithy thing official. Roster is Hauntzer, MikeYeung, Bjerg, Zven, Mithy, with SSONG (IMT coach). We say these things every year, but that might be the best TSM roster yet and NA's talent overall is going up a bunch.
A ton of big international names have jumped to NA already, with quite a few more supposedly coming, just haven't finished contracts. Huni is likely coming back (supposedly with Echo Fox). Sssumday is signed to 100Thieves (100T). Pr0lly (h2k coach) is coaching 100T. Febiven, Powerofevil, Ryu, Fenix, Arrow all signed already. Jankos left H2K, have a feeling he's trying to come here too (C9 would be my guess/fantasy pick, since they have an import slot open and Contractz is gone to GG). Franchising is increasing the payrolls heavily and providing better job security, so a lot of players are coming over. Also, LOL @ (FLY)Fly. That's potentially even better then (FLY)Hai.
TL is basically last year's IMT with Impact instead of Flame and Doublelift instead of CodySun, and I'm not even sure if that's the 2nd best team now. I feel bad for Bio, had hoped he'd go with DL to keep that lane together for Bio's sake. I'm sure TSM wanted to keep him once DL was leaving, it's not like Bio was the weak spot, but Zven/Mithy is a package deal they can't pass up. Mithy's shot calling is super important, and Zven is just as good mechanically as DL.

I also feel bad for EU, they are getting their rosters raped by this, but they are gonna be franchising in the future now. Hopefully, that'll fix the problem before it gets too bad.

For those who are curious, these are the rosters as they currently stand:
TSM
Hauntzer
MikeYeung
Bjergsen
Zven
Mithy

Cloud9
Licorice
TBD (my guess is Reignover, Trick or Svenskeren comes here)
Jensen
Sneaky
Smoothie

CLG
Darshan
OmarGod
Huhi
Stixxay
TBD (aphro exploring options, not signed yet, guessing Bio comes here if he leaves)

Team Liquid
Impact
Xmithie (Reignover signed as well)
Pobelter (Mickey/Goldenglue signed as well)
Doublelift (Codysun signed too, but word is his contract has been sold to someone, not sure who yet)
Olleh

Echo Fox
TBD (rumor is Huni)
Dardoch
FeniX
Altec
Adrian

FlyQuest
Flame
AnDa
Fly
WildTurtle
Stunt

Optic Gaming
Zig
Akaadian
PowerOfEvil
Arrow
Lemonnation

Golden Guardians
Lourlo
Contractz
Hai
Deftly
Matt

100Thieves
Ssumday
Meteos
Ryu
TBD (my guess is CodySun)
TBD (my guess is BioFrost if Aphro stays with CLG, or Aphro here and Bio goes to CLG)

Clutch Gaming (aka "we are CLG without the 'L' ")
Solo
Lira
Febiven
Apollo
Hakuho

We've seen talent stacking not work out in other regions (such as the korean exodus to China), so I'm not holding my breath.. but, on paper the talent level on each team has made a giant leap.
