It would actually be better if it was 1-2 cases a season. The murder rate their is the highest in the nation lol.
yeah.

Good entertaining show.
Season2 just came on netflix, watching that.

But it definitely has that, "this show has no idea what the population of this town is" feel/trope. This is especially bad in this show, given the whole election deal in seasons 1 and 2. So the two seasons occur over a period of like 2 months tops. If it didn't have this hard timeline from the election, you could at least argue it takes place over a longer period. but they pretty clearly say things like "the election is next week".

25 murders in 2 months. And the town has 1 sheriff, and 3 deputies. haha. oh, and drug cartels, a casino, large illegal population, illegal rodeos, etc..
The town should have at least 30 cops. not 4.

The books that the show are based upon are pretty decent reads, the show captures Walt really well. Parts of New Mexico can easily pass for Wyoming.

I'd like to see more Katie, I've had a thing for her since Smallville.

Totally agree, since the show is character driven in nature having a new murder each episode that they have to wrap up, they have to rig the stories to have situations that that force character development, and therefore isn't organic. Plus you always get moments where they have to take shortcuts or use sloppy writing to insure a timely resolution which destroys the pacing. The show would really benefit from just investigating a couple of cases per season, allowing more natural progression of showing Longmire as a damaged person and how that affects his relationships with the rest of the cast.

I want to like this show but just can't because nearly every episode has to have its neat little resolution all tidied up at the end.

Nice season opener. Very solid.

Although I'm now just waiting to see the "How the guy who shot Branch faked his death" angle show up...

This show is a very close second to Justified on my "things I have to watch which aren't on the major networks" list.

I thought this season was very good. I love how Walt is an older dude but just an all around badass.

I have no idea why, but every time I watch this it reminds me of my parents watching Matlock.

I stopped a few episodes in but will probably binge watch the season when it's over. The writing/stories are pretty bad but the cast is great.

Well this was the best season of the show in my opinion. What a finale too!

10 Episodes just does not make a season to me. Feels like we are only 1/2 way into a season.

Hope it gets picked up for a 4th, but reviews have been not so good.

That's rough because I feel like the show has gotten progressively more interesting as time goes on. Last season was its best. I hope Netflix picks it up!

The company that owns the show is shopping it to other networks. I'd be surprised if some channel doesn't pick it up. That many viewers has to be enticing.

Apparently A&E only wants shows it wholly owns. They will be doing more reality TV garbage. I cannot wait until reality TV dies off.

I hope Netflix picks it up. I think they did a very decent job with the last season ofThe Killing.
