[Manga] Bleach (spoilers to current)

Yeah that was the explanation but Kubo doesn't realize how confusing that arc made everything. Ichigo's mask and Hollow Within were already explained when the Vizards came into the picture, then he made an entire new arc that fucked up everything. Kubo may have had this current arc planned out in his head years in advance but it's obvious most of the story of Bleach was written on the fly.

Well they tied it together like the Naruto/Sasuke thing even more in this episode. Ichigo is practically the champion for the Spirit King, Ishida will become the champion for the Quincy King, just as Naruto/Sasuke are the paragons of either side of the Sage of the Six Path's offspring. I for see a battle between Juha and Isshin over the former indirectly causing the death of the latter's wife.
