You wouldn't believe how much drama is on a route
Im constantly amazed at the "drama" at my wifes office too.

I'm always down to hear some postal route drama though. Might make for a nice change.

It doesn't man. It's all the same. I'll say when she worked at an office it was way way worse. Those bitches were catty and cliquey

Normally, I just nod and space out during 'work talk' from my wife, but recently she told me about the IT guy fixing some girl's computer at her work and he found a bunch of sex pics of the girl getting railed by two dudes at once. I definitely paid attention to that story. Noobs saving sex pics on their work computers...

We had a meeting with corporate security recently on (common sense stupid shit) you shouldn’t do. These are all retired police, state troopers, FBI, etc, and they investigate everything from employee threats, to drug use at work, to people lying about their time.

They said they’ve fired or disciplined 50+ people over the past five years for googling shit at work like bomb making, suicide methods, trying to circumvent the porn filter, etc. People are really stupid for thinking their history can’t be looked at.

I have a single female friend that'll unload office drama on me sometimes. Usually I just let her do it because she just wants to talk and it's no skin off my butt. One time I got interested in it though and laid out a simple plan to fix it and observed how fucking socially stupid women are. "You know, if this were men, the solution would be easy. The boss takes everyone out back after hours and says, 'ok, one of you is going to punch someone else and this will be the end of THIS' but you women resort to this retarded catty bullshit." And she kinda blinked at me for a minute, laughed, and said "Yeah, you're right. I just need to punch someone!"

She's alright.

OH....or you can get:

One of my girlfriend's friends got one of those candles and lucked out in getting the diamond worth 5k. So it IS possible, but is still random.

LoL I was just talking about using the fakes.

Get a fake, get it sized and your wife will never know til she gains 20 pounds and it won't fit anymore and goes to get it sized.

I feel like trying to pull a fake diamond on a woman is like trying to change the thermostat with a man in the house. They're gonna know right away.

So, update to meeting the family: they were super warm and inviting. Things were, as they would be in any situation, slightly awkward and nerve wracking at first, but that went away pretty quick. Parents were cool, grandpa was cool, met some friends I hadn’t met before, and some cousins (or whatever they were, I forget exactly.)

My age was never discussed, just talked about life, my job, their jobs, growing up where we did, typical stuff. They invited me back again for dinner sometime soon. We’re now doing the boyfriend/girlfriend thing in name. Since she’s finally done with college we’ve been seeing each around 2 times a week instead of sometimes once every two weeks when she was super busy.

It’s funny you notice little things that weren’t there before...for example now she’ll text me almost every night to say good night and uses a variety of heart emojis she hadn’t used until recently. Sounds corny I know, but I think that’s meaningful!

At any rate, never an argument in three months, no weirdness, she’s mature, we have fun together, etc. The age gap thing I don’t even think about anymore unless someone else brings it up. My friends like to ask me about it occasionally, how it’s working, I tell them it’s a non issue.

And if she complains or is turned off by it she isnt worth marrying.

Never an argument in 3 months when you see her once every two weeks is not a big surprise.

It is my Wife's first day of Mat leave today.
She took the 18 month option that Canada added a few years back.
Pays only 33% of the salary but saves on expensive early day care costs, not to mention all the cooking and clearning i am expecting ;)

I admit i was a bit Jelly as i drove into the office this morning.

Damn 18 months is nice, even at 33%.

I get 3 months here as a dad and I feel like that's kind of great in the US

I am going to take 2 weeks myself, i am going to use straight up vacation time. I never spend all my Vacation time anyway. I could take 6 months of parental leave if i want but it would eat into her 18 months.

I am 100% commission sales so would rather just take vacation time and work 5-10 hours a week from home on "vacation" , not like we are going on any trips this year...
