I read comics for over a decade and I honestly couldn't tell you who the fuck the Eternals are or what they're about.

Not totally psyched for Kit Harrington, but I loved Black Knight. They are really branching out on the Avengers roster too. Sersei and Black Knight were both Avengers.
Assuming Sersi and Black Knight are the lead characters, the introduction of the Eternals makes a lot more sense now. Unless it blows up, seems like a one and done deal just to establish those two characters going into the Avengers. If he is gonna end up as one of the main Avengers going into next phase, I can see them wanting a fairly well known, but still young actor for that spot.

Is The Eternal suppose to be the Olympus with Arthurian inserts to Thor's Asgard?

Seeing Jolie as Thena seems way more interesting than Cersei.. on the assumption she probably won't have neither the one piece bikini, or elvira dress. edit; scrolled back, and that shit looks wack

Although people hate the multi-racial cast, I really hope Ma Dong(ha) doesn't get thrown away like Asano as Hogan; granted his engrish is bad :c

I read comics for over a decade and I honestly couldn't tell you who the fuck the Eternals are or what they're about.

They are an attempt to flesh out the "cosmic" end of the Marvel universe. Kirby made a bunch of cool god-like characters and then did some acid in the 70's and decided to figure out what those "gods" did before they began fucking with modern super heroes. Turns out, they made a bunch of other super heroes that everyone forgot about. Essentially they ran out of ways to create super heroes and so did a version of "god did it". Except in this case, "god" was the celestials.

Its a really obscure area of comics that I haven't read outside of reading online about the Celestial shit; because I wanted to know more about the dudes that laughed at Odin. But otherwise they were like Guardians of the Galaxy and most other "cosmic" spin offs, no one read this shit. The only part of the cosmic stuff most people read were when Cosmic entities fucked with Earth or popular super heroes.

Since they've shown Celestials, I'm guessing the next story arc will be about them--and potentially Galactus, now that they own the rights. (Galactus fighting Celestials was great)

The Eternals movie almost guarantees we are gonna get something like the Celestial Host coming back to judge Earth.

Yeah for most part Eternals aren't anything special, imo. Pretty sure that Marvel wanted to get Kirby back from DC enough that they told him he would do whatever he wanted, and thus we got a less interesting retread of the New Gods. Thing is they already have another alien created superhuman race in the Inhumans, which were created like 10 years before...and they have quite a few more interesting characters.

Too bad the Inhumans got fucked over in the whole 'blackout' Disney ordered about X-Men/FF, and got pissed away on the television side. I think if none of that went down, would make more sense to use them instead of the Eternals, and possibly have Crystal instead of Sersi.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the only reason she's made it this far in her career is because she plagiarizes her writing from some dude with actual talent.

A new rumor suggests an A-Force movie is in development at Marvel Studios with a roster that includes Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Natalie Portman’s Female Thor.

The rumor comes from We Got This Covered, who reveal their source tells them the team will not only include Captain Marvel and Female Thor, but will also feature America Chavez as Miss America, Valkyrie, and She-Hulk.

In fact, their source tells them the newly announced She-Hulk Disney+ series will lead to the formation of the A-Force team.

As one can expect in modern Hollywood, the source also indicates Disney is looking for a female writer and female director for the project.

An all-female Marvel team-up movie has been talked about for a couple of years now. Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson discussed the possibility about such a film back in February 2018. (Related: Kevin Feige Talks About All-Women Marvel Movie!)

“I’m not Marvel so I can’t make it happen, but I can tell you that Marvel is hugely collaborative, I think our even our Thor [Ragnarok] movie was basically the product of conversations they’d had with Chris [Hemsworth] and with Mark [Ruffalo] about what they wanted to do next. I think [Marvel boss] Kevin Feige is really excited by the idea, and if you look at what’s happened already in Phase 4 with me and [Thompson’s character] Valkyrie and our story, and then in Black Panther the women rule supreme.”

In fact, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige endorsed the idea:

“It is an embarrassment of riches. Even watching the audience at the Black Panther premiere respond to Lupita, Letitia, and certainly Danai in their action sequences … you watch Danai spinning around in that casino, taking out dozens of people, and you go, ‘Of course you can make a whole movie about that!’”

He did note:

“It is all about figuring out when and how. But by the way, many of them have already filmed additional scenes in upcoming movies, so some of that is gonna come sooner rather than later. All of them will be seen again.”
