Just finished it, Not as good as the first season, But not terrible either.
Let's face it, you have to have a bit of fluff to fill out 1`3 episodes, but the shrink was annoying as hell to me for some reason. Other then that it's not half bad, I'd still keep watching if they made more

Maybe because she's a smug cunt all the time, and the fact that she's supposed to be this know-it-all shrink and looks like she's 25ish.
I think Russo could have done better, with a better script. Religo-man was dull, seen the same character type done many times and done better, again, not the actors fault, imo. Bland Girl needs to stick to being "Girl #3" in forgettable slasher flicks. Her writing was bad too, but she was always one note, that note being "just got home from the mall with my BFF!" Bernthal had to carry every scene she was in, but luckily he's killing it as Frank.
The season really suffered from not having a truly scary big bad. All the characters were struggling more internally than with each other. This is what happens when you have too many female writers on staff. They should have had the Amy/Pilgrim stuff wrapped up by mid-season, and then had Russo wake up, and be way scarier, and uglier. Dude looks like he cut himself shaving. Overall I enjoyed it, thanks to Bernthal, hope he gets more roles like this. That being said, I feel like the first episode was the best, the rest were just ok.
Last thing, I know Medani is small, but she's supposed to be a DHS agent. You're telling me she couldn't take out equally tiny shrink girl in like two seconds, without spilling her wine? lol

The last 10 seconds were great and all, but it's also a nod to how retarded the character is. Like seriously. I know we all THINK we want an entire season of that, but how's that going to work? Just watch anime.
On the other hand, they need to cut like 75% of this "internal anguish" character development shit. And stop adding characters. Fucking stick to like 4 people with stories, MAX. We don't need 6 or 7. So much talking about the same rehashed bullshit. Everyone you loved died. We get it. Now you have 4 characters all saying that and talking about it for 20 minutes per episode. Fuck off.
It needs to be formulaic. Bad guy does bad things, Punisher either hears about it or is targeted by it, then Punisher makes plan, attacks bad guy. Boom. Maybe every once in a while throw in the double cross or whatever, but there were like 3 episodes this season which were basically just talking. Frank Castle ain't made for dialogue.

The shrink is a seriously weak link. It's like you take the awesome story of Harley Quinn but make it worse in every single conceivable way then just greenlight it. Know it all 25 year old shrink assigned as the SOLE practitioner on a dude caught red handed murdering tons of people. Kills two cops escaping and murders several other people the same day. He stalks you and you then harbor him in your house and tell nobody about it. lol.
Punisher not killing the Russian mob boss and also sparing the pedophile child porn guy made me salty. Punisher is not known for mercy.

It's a bit sketchy, but Frank (in the show at least) has a weakness where kids are involved, he spared Pilgrim for the same reason. As for the sleazebag, technically, he wasn't a pedophile, he just let pedos pay him to use his studio. Plus, Amy asked Frank nicely not to kill him. At this point, he cares for Amy and doesn't want her to hate him. He should have beat the guy to shit a bit more, but then he wouldn't have been able to get out of the burning building on his own. Just lazy writing cuz writers wanted that scene. Meh.

Last scene should have been the kiddie porn guy's grand re-opening instead of what it was.
Overall I'd give it about a 4 or 5 out of 10. So... much... filler. I skimmed through all the Russo / shrink stuff, most of episodes 7-11, and even parts of the last two eps which are supposed to be when 'shit gets real'.

I legit cannot understand what the fuck they were thinking with the whole psychiatrist story line. It's making it a real fucking struggle to watch this shit, even on a 2nd monitor while I grind XP or something.

I didn't mine the shrink scenes too much until it got to the end, what kind of shrink who has never exhibited any exercise/training hold their own against any office of the law. Madoni should have put 2 in her chest without so much as a scratch, that scene made me cringe.
Also Billy's face as said above, doesn't even look remotely bad. This is what I was imagining and it was way disappointing.

Yeah, the shrink and Billy literally had the same talk over and over in like 5 episodes in a row.
I will say that Bernthal did a great job in each scene....each time he looked away (like a nervous tic) during an emotional exchange really made that scene work.

Flagellating preacher is a pretty tired cliche. I dont even know if that is an established character, they didnt do anything new with him. If they can take the liberties they did with Bullseye they could have with this dude.

Assault on precinct 69. military jamming, shut off power, phone lines etc... then.. stand outside doing nothing for 45minutes, also letting the cops inside walk OUTSIDE and around.. only shooting them if they got in cars and tried to drive away.. wtf?
Agent Hottie SHOOTS the other police officer and nothing comes from it. wtf? What a retarded scene. This ties right into the total lack of a manhunt for Russo.
Or, the lack of a manhunt for the bar massacre or anything...
And yeah, Frank absolutely would not have left that photographer alive. Even if he was talked out of it in the moment. He would have stewed over it, and went back later.
