This is going to be a fucking pile of woke shit. Hard HARD fucking pass. 🖕🏻

I don't think so. I think this was put into post-production recently enough that they'd make the necessary changes given the recent shift in the cultural marketplace. Their target market is 40-50 year old men and their sons, and we all know how they voted.

We'll see - I could be wrong. Certainly 2026 is a 'borderline' year, and it could go either way. We'll know after opening night.

I think you're gonna start seeing a lot of distancing from woke marketing this year, and it's possible that this is the opening salvo in the 'big budget' segment. But you're gonna see more and more movies start walking to the center/right once the ones that were put into production 2+ years ago are done coming out. We're seeing the last dying gasps of wokeism.

Huffing so much copium that he's not leaving some for anyone else

ehhhh i don’t think so. It’s pretty noticeable that that particular cultural movement is in significant decline. At the very minimum the peak is well past us.

i expect Hollywood to catch up on an 18-24 month delay, the the degree that Hollywood can be expected to.

You can always tell who the kids are, because they're completely oblivious to the "politically correct" movement of the late 80s/early 90s and the cultural backlash at the time towards being anti-politically correct.

People also forget that the general population also rejected the "family values" shit that was being pushed at the same time.

I didn't see the family portion of that movement back then but I remember being outraged over the political bullshit with music and games. Especially music.
The censorship, the artists getting arrested because of lyrics. The "explicit" warnings. Games were just as infuriating, like when they blamed Marilyn Manson and DOOM as influencers for Columbine.

You're right about the family values being rejected, the falling birth rate is proof of that.

He's not wrong. The woke bullshit, while still fucking annoying, is on a massive decline. People just don't fucking care for it and now they're actively against it. You see it not only politics where it's now called out and dismissed in the same paragraph in public, you see it less and less in entertainment. Even juggernaut companies like Disney have admitted it failed.

Really only places that it's so entrenched in is Amazon (which this movie is) and Netflix. Then places like Blue sky and whatever else those echo chamber faggots parrot each other in.

It's dying, not fast enough, but it's noticeably declined.

What? Family values pretty much ruled most of the US during that time and was reflected in the sit coms of the era.

And, as a teenager in the mid 90’s, we cracked pretty hard on the PC bullshit. That was shit then like woke liberal shit is now.

No, family values meant something different back then. They meant a return to old stuff like The Waltons or Leave it to Beaver. They considered stuff like Married with Children or The Simpsons or In Living Color to be bad influences.

I’m aware. I was referring mainly to stuff like Full House, Family Matters, etc. Married with Children etc were substantially fewer in number than the other sitcoms. And even the “anti family” sitcoms still most had episodes where they reverted back into family stuff definitely happened on Simpson’s and married with children. In living color had more in common with Saturday night live.

I don't remember Masters of the Universe being quite so spaceshippy.

It really sucks that we've gotten so used to raceswaps that we're like "eh its just Man At Arms". Why not just cast actors that look like the fucking characters? Are there no white dudes with mustaches left?
I'll chip in with that I love Mr Elba in everything I've seen him in. And I don't doubt he could make a good Man At Arms. But there are other characters he could have been cast as to make room for who I'd prefer.... Forgive the quick and dirty AI slop....

Would also give them someone with some native "dad joke" comic chops to throw against Teela.

Even this guy would be a better choice. Imagine him collecting trophy from beast man to go with his minotaur trophy!

Carl Urban would have been a good pick.

I could back this one as well. IMHO, it would be Urban if you wanted a grittier Man-at-arms, Offerman if you wanted more levity with it. Then again I'm kinda hoping they aren't going to "grimdark" He-Man... Let the IP be what the IP has always been. In my perfect world this movie results in little boys wanting to be He-Man and little girls wanting to be Teela.
