Thanks for the recommendations y’all. I should have been more specific about needs. I ended up going with:

View attachment 187472
Fits the laptop and has plenty of room for legal pads and a few other items.

That looks really sharp. Nice choice. I would have gotten a dark brown (maybe that is and I’m colorblind) but if your wearing black leather shoes and belt that’s just fine. Sometimes I go overboard on being matchy with that stuff. Do you guys think black shoes with a brown bag, or brown shoes with a black bag stands out in a negative way?

I give people shit at work about mixing up shoes/belt, but I don't expect anyone do make sure their bag matches.

Id look clownishly out of place if rolled into work with a leather satchel.

I use backpacks I've gotten for free from conventions. They are quite nice.

I just bought 2 pair of Allen Edmonds with cedar inserts for 600. Seemed a good deal.

Anyone try Charles Tyrwhitt shirts? Just for casual/untuck purposes. Pretty good deal, 5 for $100 so figure it's not a bad loss if they suck. They ship from England though so I'll be waiting a bit.

Got the strand weave in brown a few weeks ago, might be my favorite pair yet but a little worried the weave is gonna be fragile

Excellent shirts. Don’t know about wearing them untucked though, maybe the casual ones? Also link the deal.

I need a nice business casual shorts & sandals style. I'm hearing Hawaiian shirts are a good choice. Keep in mind I live in Hawaii, so there's that...

I'm just tired of long pants & rolled up long sleeves. Too warm out here for that shit.

Xarpolis Xarpolis The Prana Brion is my go-to nice looking warm weather short.
Good looking short. It says rugged and durable. Is it somehow light weight?

And do you wear it with a belt? The models in their pictures don't, but then again, they're models for the shorts.

It’s a synthetic blend stretch material so it’s durable, lightweight, and moisture wicking. I’ve always worn them with a belt, even when climbing. Prana has a solid satisfaction guarantee, so worst case you wear them for a few months and return them for a refund.

Those seem to be almost exactly like modern "golf" shorts. You may want to check golf outlets for similar style shorts at bargain prices.

Just make sure to check the material. Some are cotton, but most are synthetic blends with moisture wicking as described above.
