Dude the Yankees won a World Series not even 10 years ago. Or does "good" only count when you win three WS in five years or some shit?

Not sure why you continue to focus on how good or bad they are when I'm just honestly telling you that it is not a large factor in my enjoyment of following them. There are years that I really enjoyed that they didn't win a damn thing is all I'm trying to tell you.

Playing below .500 ball can be frustrating certainly but my only point is that I have often focused more on individuals than on the team. I had hopped that Cano would have stayed a Yankee, but I lost interest in the last few years from lacking a connection not how good or bad the team was doing. Was my only point I was intending to share.

You're right, Yankee fans are spoiled. It's hard not to be, if you grew up with them and followed them closely starting in 1995 then of course there is going to be an expectation when you win 4 championships in 5 years and then make the playoffs for something like 14 years straight. So yea, the level of expectation is different than with other teams. The only comparison I can make is if you are a fan of Alabama football. For basically the last 6-7 years (or however long Saban has been there), if you don't go to the National Championship game every year the season is a failure.

Now it's really not like that as much with the Yankees anymore (or at least not on that level) because once Jeter retired it was pretty much expected that there were going to be some lean years. You ask any Yankee fan if they expected this team to do anything this year and I think most would say no if you are being fair.

I read an interesting stat last night after they won. Guys like Jeter and Mariano have been such a fabric of the Yankees for so long that this was the first postseason series the Yankees had won without either Jeter or Mo on the team since 1981.

I get that. I'm a Warriors fan so I do have this expectation that this current roster will be a letdown if they don't win another title or two. But I'd like to think that I won't be all "we're finally good again!" if they manage to become a contender in 2027.

Five years ago the Astros lost 111 games. That shit sucked. But now they hit a lot of dingers and things are good.

This Nats Cubs elimination game is pretty good. They really have to speed the game up though and stop padding on the commercials. We're entering the 9th inning after 4 and a half hours. It would help also if they limited the catcher or pitching coach or manager from walking out to the mound every 5 minutes. Give each team 5 timeouts a game or something.

Give up just 2 runs to that lineup, you have to win that game. Gave away too many at bats early on and didn't get into the bullpen fast enough. Shit sucks.
