It's insane how a UFC headliner gets 130k for a fight, meanwhile Floyd Mayweather made 9 million $ for 1 round of an exhibition fight in Japan.

I know that argument is tired, but has any UFC fighter ever had a 10 million dollar purse? Maybe McGregor?

That's like pointing out that Russell Wilson has a 140 million dollar contract and asking if any Arena QB has ever been paid that much.

I guess its Mayweathers star appeal?

I know PPV numbers are a huge factor, it just seems like MMA fighters should make more purse.

They may be underpaid but you're comparing their take to the take of the highest paid boxer ever who has been undefeated almost as long as the UFC has even existed.

Fury-Wallin Card was also on Espn+

Per the Nevada State Athletic Commission, official contract purses for Saturday night’s Top Rank card:
Tyson Fury $1 million, Otto Wallin $250k,
Emanuel Navarrete $220k, Juan Miguel Elorde $40k,
Jose Pedraza $120k, Jose Zepeda $90k.
Fury, Wallin and Navarrete, however, all have much larger guarantees.

Fury got $100m 5 fight deal, no idea what the other 2 got

LOL you have to love Cowboy:

“I’m not making any excuses,” Cerrone said. “The ref clearly thought I couldn’t continue. That’s the way this game is. Sometimes, you get the ref that lets you get pounded in. Sometimes, the one that won’t. I got the one that wouldn’t. So maybe it’s better for the longevity for me and my boy here. Maybe he didn’t beat me retarded, so that’s good.”

gaethe trained w/ cowboy too, you can clearly tell he was like "STOP IT REF", twice.

i'm sure that middle finger was to the inept ref.

any seasoned ref woulda stopped it when cowboy fell wobbly legged forward.

Gaethje is the Wanderlei Silva of this generation.

Best case scenario to me would be, he crushes the Irishman then gets a shot at the belt (hopefully against Tony at that point).

Except silva was never a disciplined striker as gaethje has clearly improved on during this 3 fight streak. Nor did he utilize leg kicks as much as justin

That's why Dustin is so fucking good. Gaethje has as an incredible record, and had finished basically everyone he has faced. He thrashed Poriers legs over and over yet Dustin still came out victorious and stopped him.

I think Gaethje would best Conor. Decision maybe, but I wouldnt he surprised if he stopped him. I dont think he would beat Khabib or Tony though.

Tony could beat Khabib, the division is stacked.

I have seen hundreds, if not thousands, of MMA fights at this point, but I have never seen anything like what Pereira was doing. It was jackassery on stage, but it was entertaining and worthy of a news story.

If he landed the flying knee I suppose everything before that would have been passively accepted, as it could of been a distraction that set his opponent up for a big strike.

But sadly it whiffed, and all of the extra shit was deplorable and he deserved to lose and be cut.

lulz he was doing some gay break dancing while buffer was announcing, he was like maximum cringe.

He really is like a video game character, idiots choose the capoeira guy and button mash the kicks.

Connely had one simple plan press forward and don't stop.

Even if the Japan exhibition was scripted (it doesn't matter at all, I personally believe it wasn't hard scripted at all and Mayweather did connect on him. It may have been soft scripted.) it was fucking entertaining and I got my viewership time worth. Of course, I'd never pay for it.

I can't say the same about some of the cards this year in 2019.

The UFC pay reflects the interest and care of the viewers.

Conor is doing between 3 -7 on a few of those UFC payouts AFAIK. Typically he was around 3m.

I don't think he has seen 10m, maybe 9m I could MAYBE see him scraping as a x1 payout for 1 of those cards. If you use max range $/PPV shares from Randy Couture's leaked contract, use the maximum figure, then use it against Conor's PPV sales. Its good money, but he's not seeing anywhere near 10m average.
