Me and the boys thinking about playing? Should we get base + dlc to start or is base good enough?

We've never played a monster hunter game.

While I can't imagine someone not liking MHW, it could happen, so just buy the base game.

I am a dark souls veteran, I won't cry. Unless weapons break permanently after 6 swings.

If you use the catch up armor/weapons they give you, the base game won't last long.

Weapons do not break, they get dull, need sharpened. Even hammers and giant death horns.
