Poopsocking wasn’t reallly a thing in velious onwards. Maybe for certain epic quest targets is about it. I was always constrained by how many targets I could hit in the time I had to play , not by how many other people were competing for them. It really depended on how adaptable you were as a player, were you gonna whine and moan if someone else picked the exact thing to do as you, or are you ok with finding another opportunity that may have opened up recently /is untapped . Some of the most fun memories I had in eq were long ass journeys to howling stones or Chardok because seb was crammed. Instead of getting nerd rage waaah spore king is camped again I’ll never get my fungus robe why can’t they instance fuck this game’ which is around 80% of people on this forum nowadays.

oh ya nobody poopsocked ST key mobs gatekeeping an entire zone for years

Our guild literally waited until a second guild had enough keys for ST and woke the sleeper as they were zoning in.
