I'm wondering how much faster content is made when the devs are full time employees and not just doing nights and weekends. Are they going to be 2x faster? 3x?

There are 18 zones listed on the MnM wiki. That's not including what they are working on behind the scenes. So 20ish zones is 20 percent. They plan on having 100 zones? If they have 20 fleshed out zones by EA I think they'd be doing alright. I think creating all the unique assets is still the bottleneck. With this artstyle, zone creation seems to be a pretty quick process.

He said that there’s two more overland zones before EA; Scarwood and Fields of the Lost. Then there is a package of 6 zones in the Deep, that stretch between Field of the Lost and Night Harbour under ground, one of which is the Deep Elf city… if i remember correctly.

I’m also pretty sure he said High Elves, Deep Dwarves, and Trolls wont be available until 1.0 or close to it, for what that’s worth.

Originally, Deep Elves and Deep Gnomes were not going to be a part of EA, but it looks like they've re-prioritized to include them.

As long as time is spent perfecting the systems of the game. Then you can rush out the scale.

Deep elves are modeled and textured already. Not sure where the rigging and animation stands, but they're some degree of close. It makes sense to have at least some of the deep races available since ultravision and the deep in general, also the DE starting area is probably next after they get the WE one fleshed out.

you really shouldn't dox Mr Sox like that.

or maybe that's Nirgon, idk.

sounds like a guy who gets a hard-on when he gets the bat phone call at 2am to go slay the dragon on the latest TLP server

Sounds as grumpy and unhinged as you tbh

Except he may actually be an elite player

There are so many "cater to casuals" posts here these days and loads of resentment for true questers (big time sour grapes!)

Nice, races and class combinations are paramount for new mmos. Otherwise you either have to reroll or start offering race changes which is a slippery slope.

I'm looking for doorways that ogres/trolls have to crouch through, stairs gnomes have to jump to climb sometimes and the like.

"Recruiting talented short race rogue"

"Need more ogres for Tunare wall"

All of these things were part of the magic and somehow I see so called devout Everquesters here shouting that down as "stupid"? But show me I'm wrong, please.

I'd say I wish I had all day to think this stuff up but (at least most of?) their devs also have day jobs and are busting their asses to do both. Mad respect.

I encountered this during the last playtest. I wanted to work on Jewelcrafting, which requires being able to enchant metal. Enchanters have spells that allow them to do that, but as a rogue, I need to use the "Enchanting" tradeskill... which can only be learned from an NPC in the Enchanter's guild, which can't be accessed if you're not an Enchanter. However, with some parkour skills, you can get to the top of the Enchanter's guild and jump through a small window (which my Halfling character barely fit through) in order to reach the Enchanting tradeskill trainer. It was pretty cool!

All but confirmed Goblin rogue but depends on how expensive alt spell books are for casters because shaman is second choice.

I think as long as every race and class has a place they can be situationally overpowered, this can be impressed upon by the "gaming normies" and they'll accept it.

EQ has held up well for this reason. But a lot of EQers you find nowadays are TLPers who had a very tough time with this game and Pantheon. My advice to them is to nut up and the win is sweeter given the challenge. Or, ya know, they can play retail WoW for 2 hours a week before their glass of warm milk and passing out.

To me it seems they want these more classic MMO experiences and need something like a life coach helping them understand these things and get them back in true questing shape. Knock that rust off, get immersed, stop caring so much about server firsts or not getting 3 levels a day if you're 40+ yrs old?

This emphasis on getting every top raid loot or an epic isn't something I saw be nearly as prevalent back in EQ 1 classic trilogy era. People by and large were much happier going at whatever pace they could.

A second spellbook itself is only 1 silver, but I'm not sure how copying spells into it works. I don't play a spellcaster so I don't know if you need to rebuy all of your spells and put them in your new spellbook or if you can copy spells from an old spellbook into a new one.
