You're a retarded faggot if you think cherry picking screens from 3 years ago represents what M&M looks like today. It's very telling that every M&M screen you've posted today is years old with placeholder graphics. Here's character model comparison to show how retarded of a faggot you are about that too.

Even the one you used is like pre alpha, the armor pieces of the various kinds really make characters pop.

Theres a lot of cool looking gear, I have a belt with different stuff hanging off it, was surprised at the amount of detail on a belt item. Someone else has a staff with a little skull on the en. there’s also this shield with a dragon painted on it, lots of other examples too. They have some work to do I think on the very end game /raid item graphics but I think it’s pending.

it’s all kinda cool given their overall art style and it also makes it really stick out so you definitely get the ‘whoah what does that guy have’ effect when someone runs by you which I think is great.

Nah it was lifted from the latest blog update. I get why you think it's dated because of the background missing a texture, but it's actually had work done on it from the artists. Unlike the placeholder art in the really old screens that he kept posting earlier.

Something bothers me about how characters are interacting with the ground. Maybe it’s a shadow issue? Not sure.

I get what he's saying but it has two kinds of sides. Play an Ogre Magician and you'll run around looking like a fucking fat pink muslim blob on the screen for 20+ levels. Low level characters leave a lot to be desired and.. dare I say it, I think thats the philosophy. Because when I see Sloan and the other guys roaming around with their raid loot - Pffttt... that shit looks cool as fuck. (not to single him out). I believe thats the idea of the philosophy, and if its intended for me to 1. figure out what the fuck he's wearing, 2. figure out where its from, 3. make my ass grind until Im that level... Well then that philosophy works fucking well.

If its about just the character models and the animations? .. I guess that just bothers some people more than others. I think they all kind of look dopey or weird, but passable. Ya'll can say the game doesnt have an art style, but I personally dont think the character models feel out of place. The world doesnt feel like a unity asset. Lastly, the characters as dopey as they look, dont look out of place within the world. The animations.. Ive seen them get refined as they go, but I rarely see a new game release, even single player games, where there isnt at least one fucking guy out there saying "animations bad."

The other part, and I think this is a valid criticism... is that the majority of people start in Nighthold. That'll eventually change as they add in or refine content (wood elf city ... its just not a fun zone and I cant put my finger on why). But I personally would have designed Nighthold to act like Freeport in zone connections. Everything is "too much brown", "drab" and the gear that fits the theme of that area is all about sand, and ruins, and Arab shit and.. all I have experienced in the game starting from there, specifically, is "sand, sand, sand, ocean on the side of sand, reddish brown rocks, ruins of light brown sandstone, sand, sand, sand, palm trees with sahara grass, sand sand sand, oasis with sand people and sand wolves. Its a fucking desert area, I dont expect any different. But that puts a lot of weight on how characters seem to look shitty.

Dont get me wrong, though. I love Night Harbor and after figuring out where everything is - its a well designed zone. As others have said, you could probably level up in just that zone alone, and I think thats probably its coolest merit. I also love, love, love, Shaded Dunes. That place reminds me of the Desert of Ro and Oasis of Marr so, so much. Sungreet Strand just isnt my cup of tea. I think it should have been a shade of green on that side of the city. Its a more populated zone, or it "feels" that way .. and even though I think they were trying to go for a Sahara type of vibe there? It just doesnt feel like that. Still sand sand sand sand sand for a zone that is about the length of the fucking Karana's. Some cool stuff in it, like the Quarry and the two big goblin areas - but the farmer, bandit stuff is just ... "blah". I would have rather they did a "Commons" type of zone there and it had sun beaten grass and sparse trees.

Lastly - Ive talked about this with one of the devs before... Nick's implementation of gear in Wyrmsbane.. I honestly think it would serve a much better purpose of "looks" rather than "Best in Slot" for a lot of people. I think it should drop so plentiful that it rots. With that said, its stats would need to be nerfed into the ground. Like the Cloth Cap, instead of it having 3 AC, 1str,agi/int,cha, 2 sta, 2hp, 8mana - it should have like 1 AC less than Fine Cloth (2AC) and have +1 mana, or something. Nerf the fk out of the gem requirement, too. That shits awful. BUT THE POINT IS - its fucking cosmetic, and should be replaced. But you dont end up looking like a fucking hobo or a "fucking fat pink muslim blob" for 20-30 levels.
