Got 24 on my Druid yesterday, so my buddies and I went out to Blacktide Bay for the first time. We just kinda dungeon crawled trying to find a good spot to set up shop. Found a room with a bunch of cages that looked unique, may have been a named spawn there but we didnt hang around long enough to find out. Found a whole section of ratkin that were all green. Wound up at Admiral Blacktide and camped his area for an hour or so. We were all 24/25.

I’m curious if anyone is more familiar with the place? Admiral Blacktide name kinda makes me think he’s the boss of the whole place, but I expected there to be higher level stuff in there. Do we need to go deeper still? I got turned around a bit down there but it was really fun exploring the place for the first time. Probably heading back tonight so wanted to see if anyone had any insight.

You can jump down that waterfall (and swim back up). Never been to the ships but it does have orcs on it right, might have a named?

On the beach and up a cliff is another big named, harder area than the Admiral, never killed the named though but i bet the loot is even better. Got stuck in here one night without an invis, was a massive pain (but a memorable pain) to get out.

Anyone got the latest method to play on Mac/Crossover?

I got the “full” download, ran launcher, downloaded, verified, launched.

It says I need to update on server select…I guess the full download is an old launcher? Or something…or is it just the servers are off? I cant get to the campfire zone

The patch broke the old launcher, unsure if they are going to fix it or re-bundle a new launcher for Mac/Linux.

They have some Mac and Linux … thing? To download… I dont really get what it does… it’s on their download page. The people on discord are… well confusing when I am so lazy and just want to “press go for MMO!”

I'm just going off what I saw in the Alpha Discussion. I only keep to that channel.

Today's Updates:

Patch 0.22.0.0 Notes

General

Hell Levels have been moved to 24,29, etc. instead of 25,30,... This is to better align with the feeling of "finally getting to level 30" instead of "I'm finally 31", and for future abilities quests, etc. to feel like a reward for your perseverance. Your total xp is unchanged, and this might result in a single level fluctuation for characters near the edges of a hell level.,
Channeling / spell interrupts have been reformulated to take into account the amount of damage received, and overall be much less punishing when receiving multiple small hits. Conversely, getting whacked for half your health is more impactful than it previously was. The new implementation is more easily tunable and we may see additional fine tuning in the future.,
Pets and mounts will now get 200% of the value of a food item instead of 125%.,
The Hunger / Thirst mechanic has been changed to make it easier to "force feed" yourself by clicking on food, making it a bit easier to control what you're eating. When eating in this way, you'll eventually hit a satiation cap, but you won't have to be within minutes of starving to do it manually anymore.,
Most items (aside from armor) will now show their models when placed on the ground instead of the generic bag.,
Haste no longer has any impact on weapon damage caps,
2H weapons now use the correct (slightly higher) damage cap,

Fixes

Phoenix Flower now appears as intended,
Ironbark wood minimum gathering skill fixed,
Fix coin dupe with regards to bank "Convert Coin" button,
Prevent banking when out of range of a banker,
Fixes to buffs restoring their overwrite priority when zoning or relogging,
Plugged some memory leaks in the server,
Improvements to character loading and zoning.,
Group finder LFG list should now maintain it's position instead of scrolling back to the top.,
Some UI elements would sometimes not load their settings correctly after modifying sizes, this should be resolved.,
All chat TABS should now show in the settings chat filter drop down, previously only showing each window.,
Channeled abilities line up better with the casting bar.,
Fixed an issue with damage caps not properly applying to threat calculations,
Fixed the third person camera clipping through ceilings in some locations / with some races.,

Mounts

You can no longer strafe while riding a mount.,
Mount turning speed is now correctly affected by the Grace attribute.,
Mounts will once again calculate their weight when items are added or removed from their inventory.,

Abilities

Mana missiles line, as a channeled ability, has been taken off the GCD,
Abilities that deal a percent of weapon damage (such as Slam or Stab) will now apply damage caps before the damage percent is applied, increasing the range of damage for weapons of different quality, and overall slightly increasing the damage inflicted.,
Mobs that have waited by a feigned target and begun walking home will immediately path back upon a subsequent feign.,

Content Support

Placeable objects now support emitting dynamic sounds,
Failing a craft now allows returning some items or entirely different items,
Support for designer defined crafting sounds,
Support for defining crafting times and skill gain modifiers per recipe,
Support for VFX for early buff breaks,
Forward
More

AI

More responsive idle NPC AI,

Character Art

Human male moustaches!,
Goblin males are now more spikey,
Adjustments to Horse, Treant, Giant and Mushroom Hair,

UI

Major New Feature: UI Hud Editor - you can now access a HUD editor and get those pixel perfect layouts with a grid and snapping. For now this is accessed through the command /uiedit,
Major redesign: The settings/options menu has been replaced by with a new unified settings menu. Audio, Interface, Graphics, Key binds, and Chat Settings will be found in the main menu as "Settings" instead of "Options" and the other panels. All settings can be controlled from this menu henceforth.,
Keybinds can now be set as character-specific (disabled by default). This option can be enabled under Interface settings. When enabled, any keybinds you configure while logged in will be automatically saved to that character’s controls.json file. If a new character does not yet have its own controls.json, it will import the keybinds from your previously configured global keybind file from the global root directory configuration.,
Descriptions have been added to Chat Filters in the Chat Filter Settings.,
You can now double click to select a world or character from the login screen.,
Added additional support for keybind controls including multiple keys at once (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT),
Social view now highlights your selection the same as guild view,
The social ledger is now active, all party related actions should show up here in the log,
Improvements made to the character ledger - you can now see when you sell items to a merchant and harvesting action (mining, gathering, etc.),
The scale window slider now supports an input field where you can specify the exact scale you are looking for.,
Social View Group Finder LFG/LFM now has sortable columns.,
F10 cycle should no longer close windows you have open after cycling back to turning on your UI.,
Quest NPCs that use emotes during your interaction will now log into the quest journal. (J by default),
Per character keybinds and univerisal option,

Fixed punch sounds being heard on most player race attacks regardless of weapon,
Smoother ambience transitions when zoning,
Mix adjustments and fixes,

Content

Added additional tiers of tinctures,
Tincture of Sagacity now increases spell damage as well as spell haste,
New experimental crafted magic items added,
Added crafted magic equipment experimental recipes,

Quests

Night Harbor Druids should now be able to locate something with their Imbued Circle Coin.,
Night Harbor Inquisitors have had the beginning of their starter quest revamped, wiki readers beware!,
Corrected an issue that could prevent Rogues in Evershade Weald from spying on the Thinsticks twins.,
The Laundry Day quest should no longer allow you to duplicate shirts and robes.,
The white dye vat should be working for the Laundry Day quest.

PVP degens get their own lotto. Doesn't grant access to the pve servers- but eh. They're spending some amount of effort on those servers, so might as well get more feedback and metrics from them too.

PvP server active population was 30 players for the last 2 weeks.

PvP getting it's own lottery was done for necessity. There wasn't enough players to play a group game.

It's important to create an island for these types to destroy each other and move on. Usually they will return for a fresh season/new server to do it all again a few times. Good way to sell boxes and keep the streets clean on other servers. I could go at length on why this is to everyone's benefit.

That's at a minimum which is all that's required and you get a good return on the community benefits. Flip that ffa pvp switch, do a single "balance pass" (like the reduction to spell DMG in pvp that EQ did - wizard is one tooting ppl with conflagrations right now I suspect) and let these ppl have at each other with a big disclaimer regarding GMs not caring about pvp grief/corpse camping etc. These tough guys ask for it, so give it to them and enjoy the howling, fireworks and resulting memes.

No arenas, no battlegrounds, no points systems or honor or pvp gear. I think M&M is doing nicely keeping things on this track.

Everyone else can do their pvp via petition quest which is filled with a whole nother kind of entitled, passive aggressive tough guy. For some reason people stick around for putting up with that longer.

They appear to be going with a different approach. Make enough dungeons with varied enough loot and places so that progression isn't as linear as it is in WOW. Right now the wiki doesn't spoil all the loot camps and I've found it really fun to try to go after item x in place y, and usually it's a success but even if the spot is camped, we turn aside and find other good gear in other parts. I hate instancing and I was resigned to think it was necessary but I no longer think it is. Also there's much more actual good loot spread out to more places, like instead of 1 really good boots say GEBs, there are 3 or 4 with similar stats that drop in various places making it much less urgent for everyone to go camp the same camp for the same type of upgrade, chances are if you just go where you want, you'll end up with BiS for your level in a few slots, a slightly inferior item in a few slots and probably a basic item in some slots unless you play a lot.
You're playing with a FRACTION of the total player base of release (assuming things go well from an interest standpoint). I think it's a little early to wave a victory flag for "enough content for everyone."

No clue why people trash pvp so much. If you have an issue with someone on pvp you can take care of it right away. A lot better than the whining to mommy via petition shit. I guess people enjoy being effeminate cowards and couch warriors more than actual ones in their games.

...because of the pvp. Folks can go play a shooter or rust if they want to pvp. folks who want to go camp items don't need to be a cat toy for other spergs.

now the reason pvp games/servers fail is because of just the demographics of of being a niche (open world pvp) of a nich (pvp) of a nich ( mmo) of a nich (PC games) of a niche (vidya games). it's just how the numbers shake.
