You know, I was about to post how they should’ve made a half elf race so we could play a more normal sized character with infravision but some of the human classes overlap such as SK or Monk… but then I realized their wood elf chicks look like anorexic librarians and why there are no half elves in the lore.

I like the general scheme they went with for that Spellblade style but not sold yet on the actual effects. It’s promising though as it provides a good backdrop they can now tweak. Interested more so now to see what they do with other classes. Spellblade had the almost unique position of no clear expectations from the audience unlike the other eq’ish classes, which allowed them more freedom

I mean, I try to stay away from the conversation because so many associate it with incel shit. But when I think of the character models as a whole - it just reminds me of the Dracthyr design in WoW. Like the general design idea of them was done by someone that has testosterone levels that just fell off a fucking cliff - freefalling into estrogen. Not talking shit really, but all the character models in MnM seem to fall into like two or three categories like Cutesy, Dark Gothic, or just straight up.. "drab". There isnt a "Hot" race by any means. We at least had High Elves and Wood Elves in EQ and there is no He-Man type race if you want to play a gym dude. My boys swinging around a fucking two handed axe and wearing plate armor - realistically, he would be fucking SWOLE. So why instead does he look like the peasant back at the village, emaciated and would run at the first sign of combat?

The character models are universally awful and I had to restrain myself from talking shit in the art section of the discord after all I saw was people gushing over them.
It’s just another sign of the (fake and) gay times we live in.

While I agree the character designs are atrocious; I doubt it was politically motivated. Well atleast not from Shawn who is a conservative, and Nick was an open trump supporter. It’s possible whoever did the art assets is some fag and Shawn hasn’t had the headspace yet to deal with it. Either way they just are from a low talent source and I doubt they have the resources to do something about that. Unfortunately at this point I don’t see the char models changing. If the game actually takes off it would be one of the first things I would ask for.
